Glad we have Nationwide

Have had major medical for twelve years with my mixed breed dog. I am impressed with the technology updates for filing claims. Sometimes I wish the payout was greater for various procedures, but overall his coverage has been very good.

A little confusing for first time

I initiated the claim online and got a confirmation email saying the info was received, however after not getting any update or status update on my account page I called in and was told I had to submit it again.

I greatly appreciate everything Nationwide has done to help me and Coco trhrough her recent illnesses!

Coco's annual well dog checkup revealed she had a thyroid issue and the vet started her treatment. She then acquired a skin condition and had to be treated. That was cleared up with twice weekly anti-bacteria shampoo baths. She then acquired an ear infection and is now recovering from it thanks to once daily ear wash and ear drops. Through it all Nationwide has responded to each charge from the vet with their promised 90% return. I have recommended Nationwide Pet Insurance to most of my friends that have pets.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
