I’ve been very satisfied with Nationwide.

I have been very satisfied with Nationwide. I have to try submitting a claim online. Submitting by mail does take a long time. I’m never sure if the claim was received.

Ease of Mind

I know there are many negative reviews for Nationwide and I feel sympathy for those families who are frustrated by Nationwide's policies. However, I have only positive things to say about my cat's insurance. This is actually my second review for Nationwide because, though my cat is less than 2 years old, he's had two very major health issues and Nationwide has been there for me for each. In November of 2017, my cat underwent 3 separate surgeries to deal with his cryptorchidism and also stayed overnight at the vet's office after complications from surgery. The total cost in care was over $3000. Nationwide reimbursed me 90% of that cost, no questions asked. I thought that it would be a long time before I would have such major vet bills again. Unfortunately, in December of 2018, I noticed my cat was lethargic during the day and had begun eating his litter. I took him to his vet who quickly discovered that my cat was severely anemic. His red blood cell counts were low enough that we were referred a specialty vet immediately. To find the cause of his anemia, my cat underwent thorough blood testing, as well as a biopsy. The vets were looking for at everything--FeLV, blood parasites, bone cancer, autoimmune disorders--it was all bad. The tests and overnight stays totaled to over $5000. Nationwide covered 90% of it all again without question. My cat is now doing well but has expensive vet visits every month. I am grateful for Nationwide who has been there with me every step of the way. I can't speak for other pet owners who have had negative experiences with this insurance company but without Nationwide, I would not have been able to make some of the health decisions for my cat that I did.
