Pre-existing issue
I am very happy with my coverage for my dog, especially well care items, such as flea and tick treatments.
I only have one complaint, and it began when I signed Josie up over the phone. The agent asked if Josie had ever been on any medications, and I said, "Only a one-time pain pill prescription for a strained back a couple of years ago." (She twisted wrong while jumping after a frisbee, and we've never had her chase them again....she now stays grounded with a ball.) The policy for Josie showed up with a "pre-existing issue"...."intervertebral disc disease"!! Wow!! I submitted the review request form back in '16, explaining that she has never had a problem before or after this, along with vet records, but it was rejected. Our current vet said we'd have to do a whole exam, x-rays, etc. to check her out. I guess this means if she ever has back problems she won't be covered. That's pretty frustrating, but we've kept the policy, because they do cover most everything else.....and we keep our fingers crossed she won't have this "disease" again.
I would, and have recommended National to others. I think it's one of the best plans out there, if not the best.
