Nationwide is the worst!

Totally incompetent customer service reps. Put you on hold forever and then still don't have an answer to your question(s). Claims sent by fax with receipt or by e-mail with receipt and Nationwide says they were never received. Diagnosis codes are consistently wrong and claim reviews have to be filed to get payment. Takes over 30 days to process claims and if a review is filed can take over 60 days. Will never insure another dog with this company again. Can't change now due to pre-existing conditions but if not for that I would cancel! Have filed numerous bad reviews and never hear a word from Nationwide.

Best thing I ever did for my dogs

When my Puppy was 4 months old she chewed through my leather wallet and swallow a piece of my credit card. It ended up lodge in her stomach and needing emergency surgery. I didn’t have the insurance then but immediately started looking into it because i had 2 dogs under a year old. $4k later I know if something like this happens again I won’t have to take on the debt. I also got the plus plan that cover there annual visits and vaccines. It’s about $1200 a year for 2 dogs but spend more than that at the vet without the insurance a year. And let’s be honest it really gives you piece of mind your fur babies are covered... from nail trims to surgery. They will have it for life.

Claims need to be processed faster unlike competitors who refund in 2-3 business days.

Competitors are processing claims and reimbursements within 2-3 business days which with nationwide I have to wait 30 days. Also, prices are almost the same give or take a few dollars and don’t have a cap in the yearly coverage.

Great Insurance but too long to process claims

Everything has been GREAT except for the processing of claims. It takes a MONTH/30 days to get reimbursed. I have spoken with several other pet owers who have different pet insurance and their turn-around time is within 2 weeks.

Surgery

Alfonzo underwent surgery yesterday for his glaucoma. Unfortunately, the drops were not effective enough in keeping the pressures down, and my Dr was concerned he could permanently lose his sight in both eyes. It was expensive but I would do anything for my dog. I will be submitting the claim today. Thanks in advance.
