Life-Safer

I adopted a healthy puppy when he was 10 weeks old with no health issues. Insured him because I'm naturally anxious and wanted to be prepared for the worst case scenario. Well, as it turns out my pup is medically complex to say the least. He had anal gland issues, has chronic GI problems, and has anxiety. His first year was expensive and traumatic for us both. Being able to let go of financial worries and know that Nationwide would reimburse 90% of the expenses was life-saving and allowed me to focus entirely on getting my pup back to health. This year, his health has been much better managed overall. However, last week was quite a week and I ended up calling the VetHelpline three times to seek advice about possible emergencies. The on-call vets were wonderful, reassuring, and walked me through what to do. I don't know what I would have done without that service! I will say that the premiums are expensive as sin (more than double what I pay for my own medical insurance), but in my case, they have been WELL worth it.

Superb Service

Nationwide Pet Insurance definitely was a breath of fresh air when we had to deal with a emergency life threatening situation with our sweet precious Oja. The entire process was very easy with no hassle to get reimbursed.

You are all wonderful and caring!

I wanted to let you know that Ms. Bailey is doing awesome...we are making sure to keep her out of trouble as a puppy. Having the insurance made everything easier knowing that if something happened you were there. Even tho Bailey ate too much kibble, by getting into the dog food bins, she is ok! It was very scary, and we are more careful by locking up the kibble and treats!! Other then that she is a typical saint Bernard/ Bernese mountain dog mix! We appreciate all you do and I honestly recommend you to all my friends and family!! I wish I knew of you when I got my other dogs as pups! You are wonderful!! And keep up the awesome work! Pets are family and you obviously think the same! From the Pawlak Family

I would recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to any pet owner

I shopped around for pet insurance when we bought our first dog and ultimately landed on Nationwide. About 10 days after my policy became effective - my puppy ate a sock and needed surgery to remove the obstruction. I'm glad i had the policy at that time and everything has been smoothe sailing. I would recommend this company to any other pet owner(s)

Nationwide has been a blessing.

Initially, the form submission process was a little confusing but the form itself is simple and easy to follow. That being said I am not computer friendly. ( So I would prefer to submit my claim while speaking directly to a representative). In most cases the claims are paid within a month but on a few occasions I've had to get additional paperwork from the vet. Since I am also not familiar with medical terms, wouldn't it be easier to contact the vet directly to get what is needed. We have a few poodles and unfortunately we have had our share of illnesses. Priscilla has had on-going ear infections and problems with her anal gland. She had also had to have all her teeth extracted. Needless to say it has been costly. Nationwide has been a blessing.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
