The Nationwide Pet Insurance Health and Wellness program has been very helpful to us and our cats.

As I mentioned in the review title, having pet insurance has been very helpful to us, especially since Zoe has been experiencing unexpected health issues over the past 6 months. Filing claims is easy and convenient and we are reimbursed in a timely manner. The only complaint we have is the recent increase in monthly premiums, by approximately 64%! We understand the increase was the result of overall industry standards, but feel it was still quite high. However, based on past experience we will continue to purchase our insurance from Nationwide. Thank you.

Consistently reliable and responsive.

Nationwide attends to the the bills in a prompt and responsible manner. Their followup to check on the dog adds another dimension of caring. Very pleased with the company.

Awful waste of money

This is the worst policy ever you pay 950. a year per pet and then have a 250.00 deductible then i have had to resubmit the information 3 times with the doctor notes was not enough for 14.00 reimbursement. not worth the hassle. We this is a lie cause i cant leave a review that is bad. We want to hear from you: the good, bad & the ugly! Claim Process is Ridiculous

The claim Process takes too long. They continue to ask for more and more paperwork. It seems inconsistent and inconvenient to have to jump through hoops to file a claim.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
