Wish I had pet insurance years ago

Best pet decision I ever made - except adopting our Sara -- was to buy pet insurance for her (and us!). Not only has it more than helped with the bills, but provide a supportive network for her care. We appreciate the check-ins. The insurance claim process is so easy on line. Sara, her dad, and I highly recommend Nationwide.

Excellent turn around time!

Thankful for help but confused and concerned about items not covered

Overall you system is very helpful and friendly. Some of the display for past claims is a little "wonky" or not as user friendly as one would hope. Once you get the hang of how to look for past claims it is pretty easy though. I am tough of user friendliness as I have to train users on software each day as well as support them and ideally you want a layout/functionality that is very intuitive. Take my feedback with a grain of salt. I am still confused as to why Nationwide won't cover his seasonal allergies and the flare ups such as the bronchitis from that. That is not clearly explained in the coverage. I am glad that you can cover prescription food as Smokie now needs it due to the pancreatitis. Thanks, Lynnette

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
