MetLife | Pet Insurance Review

This is the first pet insurance company I’ve used for my 3rd beagle Violet. The claim application is simple to use….the turnover and processing of claims speedy and payments received quickly. Customer service has always been very helpful the few times I have called. I definitely recommend MetLife coverage for your pets.

We bought pet insurance for our 8 year old cat. MetLife refused to pay ANYTHING for our visit, due to a "pre-existing condition" of gastritis. They wouldn't pay for a routine lab panel for an elderly cat, fecal test, nothing. We paid over $900 for insurance, and got zero for this. I didn't trust they would ever pay for anything so we cancelled.

Met Life pet has always paid claims promptly with no run around. My only complaint is the claim filing system could be improved. For example, a simple box where a person could make notes about the submission or call out something you feel is needed would be great. The form always asks for the vet's notes, but some times you are just picking up a script and there are no vet notes. It would be nice to be able to note these things so you don't feel like you haven't provided the right info.
