Best customer service experience

I could not recommend Lemonade enough to anyone looking for pet insurance. The customer service has been wonderful and the claims process is very straight forward.

So easy and quick!

I purchased Lemonade for our Maine Coon kitten, and we purchased the preventative package for kittens. This includes everything from vet visits to vaccines to spray/neuter. I am extremely happy with Lemonade. I chose Lemonade over other providers because they seemed to be the most comprehensive and laid out everything in such a clear manner, way ahead of its time in pet insurance. The app is excellent, so easy to use and so easy to submit a claim. As soon as you click submit, your claim is approved and the money is immediately transferred into my checking account (by immediately, I mean in seconds). It's nice to have piece of mind that if anything bad happens, Lemonade will protect me from having to spend thousands out of pocket to save out cat. We are so pleased with it, that we switched our other Maine Coon cat from another insurance (our high deductible meant we never were reimbursed for anything) to Lemonade as well (he is 1.5 years old). If you are looking to purchase pet insurance, then I highly recommend.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
