Easy, responsive, and caring

Making a claim with Lemonade via the app is super easy. And when you need a real person, they are there for you. They always answered my emails within a day. My claim was paid fairly and in a decent amount of time (everything is a little slowed during COVID and they kept up communication while my claim was working its way through the system). I like that they support good causes and they seemed to really care about my dog, so they must be dog people.

Check out Lemonade!

Lemonade has been great so far! Not a fan of having to make videos for the claims but the process is relatively easy and the service is great. I really enjoy talking to their reps. I would look at what they consider a “pre-existing” condition though as we got a claim denied due to a visit that occurred during the waiting period.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
