Refreshing like lemonade on a hot summer day

Lemonade makes processing claims so easy. Their app is simple to use and claims are processed immediately. I have added the wellness plan and the claims I made against it were paid out within 1-2 days. Everything is handled through there app and if there are issues with a claim an email is sent in a day or two to explain the issues as well as a callback number should you choose to prefer to talk to a live person.

Decent Coverage and excellent customer service

I've had two recent visits to the vet. The reps who process our claim are really personable and even asked for a picture of our pet. They told us that they loved his name and it wasn't necessary but it was nice to be treated like more than a claim. They explain what is covered thoroughly, putting in a claim is not bad but I know lemonade is asking for doctor's notes when other insurance carriers are not. They also don't cover the vet consultations but at least those aren't super expensive. So far I've gotten back a good amount of my money and it's definitely building my trust with this brand.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
