Unbelievably Easy
I did extensive comparative reviews TWICE before I was willing to commit to pet insurance. I was skeptical of the value at first but ultimately by the second round of research did the math and spoke to a couple of vets and friends with pet insurance and was convinced of the benefit. If you treat your cats like family, then pet insurance makes sense. The alternative to not having insurance is awful if a pet becomes sick or injured and required costly care. I decided I didn't want to put me or my family in that situation having to make that kind of decision. Once you look at it that way, insurance makes a lot of sense just like it does for people.
When I did the comparisons I kept going back to Lemonade for the cost. Then, I started using Lemonade and I cannot believe how easy the entire process is. They handle everything through the app and email with excellent friendly customer service. They respond very quickly and everything is set up to be extremely people friendly - even for those who know nothing about technology. The claims were processed ridiculously quickly and the reimbursement was in my bank account in about 24 hours. I am loving Lemonade and know I made the right choice. I wish more people knew about it.

Monthly Cost
Policies start at $10/Month
Coverage
Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%,
80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Payout Limits
Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.
Deductible
$100, $250 or $500 annually.
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage
for pets as they age.
Waiting Period
All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods:
-2 days for accidents
-14 days for illnesses
-6 months for cruciate ligament events
There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.
Exclusions
Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
