When the unexpected happens, we were so glad that we had Healthy Paws with us
We have had Healthy Paws insurance since Maui (our Bullmastiff) was a puppy, and currently he is 3 months shy of 4 years. For the most part, he has been very health, and we have had the occasional vet visit that really didn't warrant insurance (after annual deductible). That all changed this year when Maui became lethargic and very weak in his back legs - he could barely go for walks. We had tried numerous diet issues, but after nothing worked, we took him to the vet. It started with an ACTH test ($750), then after that came back negative, the vet suggested an MRI on his back hip ($2800), and then finally a spinal tap ($2200). Needless to say, my wife and I were really concerned with the medical bills, as we had hardly claimed anything in the past and now were putting through almost 6K in vet bills! However, the review process by Healthy Paws was the same, and we got the same prompt response we had got in the past, and with confirmation that we be reimbursed close to 75%. The reimbursements showed up in our bank account less than a week after we submitted the receipts via the website. Honestly, was the easiest insurance reimbursement experience I have had, and would have no problem recommending Healthy Paws to other 'parents'!

I would HIGHLY recommend pet insurance and Healthy Paws
We've had a great experience with Healthy Paws and I would HIGHLY recommend pet insurance.
I was a bit concerned with the price per month, but I did the math and it seemed like it would be a good investment even if we didn't need it until our dog got old. Turns out we needed it much sooner than expected.
Tucker, our Golden Retriever, developed a limp in his front left leg when he was about 6 months old. We hoped it was just growing pains but after a few months we took him to a specialist and it turns out he needed expensive surgery =(
Healthy Paws gave us the confidence to find the best specialist in the area and Tucker is now doing great! I submitted the claim online, got zero hassle, and received a reimbursement 2 weeks later.
My only feedback for Healthy Paws is that I would love to have a plan that covered more stuff (like consultations) even if it was more per month =)

Amazing!
Healthy Paws has been SO helpful for both of my cats. They have each had their share of issues, one broke their hip and the other has gone through a bone marrow test & bladder stone. We are always able to give our cats the highest quality of care because of them. They have made the process of filing a claim so simple and take the time to check on our kitties afterwards as well. Definitely recommend!

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.

Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*

Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
