The company is great to deal with

The company is great to deal with. Easy signup and streamlined claim process. Customer service is easy to connect and is very personable to deal with. Almost took away one star due to the company's lack of transparency. This issue can be rectified if the client performs due diligence before signing up but there is a "pre-enrollment exam" that is required and that requirement was not very clear in the brochure or on its website. An awkward interaction was necessary to resolve this issue but fortunately, the company's excellent customer service came through and resolved the issue satisfactorily. Otherwise, I highly recommend this service to pet owners. I did not expect my healthy 2 year old Maltipoo to injure herself playing fetch but it did and needed a deep pocket medical atttention and in the end, Healthy Paws came through.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is a Great Choice!

I am so thankful we got Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for our dog! Speaking to the team whenever an issue comes up is easy, and they've helped us pay for costly procedures over the past couple of years. I highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!

Simple Claim and Reimbursement

Our dog has environmental allergies and needs daily medication and annual lab tests. Her vet visits can get quite expensive each year and her daily medication really starts to add up. We are extremely thankful that we have Healthy paws. Healthy paws has a very simple claim submission form and reimbursement. We have not had any problems getting our dog's medications and lab tests reimbursed. Thank you Healthy Paws!

We've had Healthy Paws for 6+ years now…

We've had Healthy Paws for 6+ years now and they've exceeded our expectations for covering our two miniature dachshunds, Frieda & Dori. The claims process is very convenient using their online process. I chose them after researching several companies preferring their annual deductible, no claim caps and excellent reputation. They've covered Dori's surgery to remove a mass in her abdomen, ultrasounds to monitor the surgical site and a bladder lesion we inadvertently discovered (likely Transitional Cell Carcinoma that we successfully treated holistically - gone now) and acupuncture treatments. More recently, Frieda had a gall bladder mucocele (clogged) and pancreatitis that required emergency veterinary care. The surgery was successful and Frieda is happy at home now after a week in the emergency hospital. Healthy Paws was great and covered the expenses (90% in our case after exam co-pays). It gave us confidence to know we could focus on Frieda’s health and have Healthy Paws on board to help her and us through this crisis.

Save your time and money

I recently purchased insurance for my 1 yr old Springer. He had 1 previous appointment aside from his wellness appointments. Their communication was poor at best....I could never get a clear answer the majority of times that I called and when I did file a claim, it was not surprising to me that it was denied based on a previous existing condition which apparently was based on a conversation only with the vet. IMO you would be better off setting aside the $ yourself each month....who has the time for the frustration.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
