Best experience, I wish all insurances worked this way!

I love the way the online experience works. Just take a picture of your invoice and submit! For our dogs surgery we had to call customer service to make sure we would be covered. The representative was very thorough and answered all our questions. Surgery happened and within 2 weeks we had our check in the mail and a sweet follow up email asking how our dog was doing! I truly wish all insurance companies worked this well!

Made it possible for my Havanese puppy to have sightseeing cataract/glaucoma surgery.

Lia is scheduled for her second post-op checkup this week with all seemingly going well in her recovery. SHE is just returning to her playful puppy self and so good-natured about having 3 eye drops 4 times and a day and twice a day oral meds I am so grateful for Healthy Paws support in saving Lia's eyesight. I am retired now and paying totally out of pocket for her procedures would have been difficult

Great first time experience

I have a 4 month old pug puppy that had an unknown allergic reaction and had to spend the night in the emergency room. Healthy Paws processed my claim the same week that I submitted it and I received payment towards my bill the following week. Excellent customer service both during and after the visit. I wish I didn't need to use them so quickly but I am glad they were there when I needed them.

Horrible Service

Tried to defer my insurance due to the pandemic. Healthy Paws refused to defer and charged me several month until I asked for a cancellation. They will do whatever it takes to take your money and avoid payout.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
