Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Very positive experience with Healthy Paws. Was referred to them by my neighbor, who also has had a need to use them (ACL surgery on her pup). Completing information and sending invoices was easy, and when it wasn't, Healthy Paws reached out to the Animal hospital and dealt with them directly. Prior to my dog's emergency visit and surgery, I had a fleeting thought of shopping around for another insurance provider, since my premium has increased, but after this experience - never! From the customer service reps that handled my calls during such a difficult time, to the immediacy of receiving my reimbursements, I could not be happier.

After losing our Corgi to cancer over 10 years ago and the bills stopped our work on our house - I said if we got another dog or kitty pet insurance was a must! We chose Healthy Paws and haven't been sorry. Gracie and Cooper have both been ill during this pandemic time and Healthy Paws has been awesome! I would highly recommend Heathly Paws Insurance. There are no limits and they pay timely. After only having our rescue Beagle for 9 months she had have a $5k eye surgery. Healthy Paws paid the 90% I signed up for without any problem. I used another insurance company who I paid more too than they paid me.

My little terrior, Hans, has been very ill for @ 6 weeks requiring multiple hospitalizations for IV fluids and meds, plus diagnostics o barium swallow, ultrasound and endoscopy. He had to see an Internal Medicine veterinarian in a specialist clinic. I'm very pleased with the amount Healthy Paws covered.

Healthy paws will continue to raise your rates over the life of your pet until it is almost unaffordable. They don't raise it in the first couple years but by the time your pet gets older and it would be hard to switch companies especially if there are any underlying health issues the rates start to increase substantially. I have been a customer for almost 10 years. My monthly premium started out at $39 a month, now I am paying $130 and my deductible doubled without them notifying me. They do make it easy to submit a claim, but more often then not when I have submitted a claim, I have had to call customer service to sort things out because they didn't pay me what I was entitled or they needed more medical records. This company seems good at first but don't be fooled, they will get you in the end.
