Best Pet Insurance

So thankful for Healthy Paws pet insurance! My dog needed emergency surgery for a collapsed lung. The insurance covered 90%, and we were reimbursed in less than a month. Truly amazing company, and the claims department was great! If anyone needs pet insurance, this is the one to get! Thank you, thank you!

Easy Claim submission and great Customer Service

We have used Healthy Paws for over 8 years. We rescued a 7 yr old Boston and at that point NYS law allowed for senior coverage through Healthy Paws and it was so helpful. Sadly at age 11 he got prostate cancer and Healthy Paws made it so easy to submit claims and the reimbursements were so quick. I never had to worry about coverage bc it was very clear on what was and wasn't covered after the deductible. All his oncologist visits and chemo meds were all covered. And when it was time to transition him, Healthy Paws was supportive and the cost was covered under the policy. We even got a condolence card from them after George passed. Now with our second dog Ellie, she was rescued at 1 yrs old and we also got her coverage from Healthy Paws. The premium did go up as expected, year after year, however again, I had peace of mind that after the deductible, she would have coverage--she had an eye issue, two different surgeries to biopsy a growth on top of her skin and then the recent procedure was a lumpectomy, which thankfully turned out to be benign. I never had to worry about coverage. Healthy Paws was prompt and clear. I have recommended it to all the new pet owners I know. Unfortunately as noted above, HealthyPaws does not cover new seniors and so our most recent rescue was 5 years old when we got her and I was disappointed that I couldn't add her to Healthy Paws, I had to go to a competitor. I will not name names, but the first year of coverage with the other insurance carrier was terrible. It took almost 3 months for an EOB...subsequently it's gotten better but I had high expectations since I started with HEalthy Paws.

They overcharge for premums once your dog turns a certain age, forcing you to cancel and then leave you with nothing for your pet. Disgraceful!

Not very Responsible or reputable

We have been paying for insurance with Healthy Paws for 10 years. Our premium has gone up substantially and we have rarely used the policy. We recently had a claim where our dog had an illness and the vet gave us his notes documenting the issue. Healthy paws dismissed it as a well visit and refused to pay. We appealed the claim and have not heard back. They keep saying it is being looked at with no resolution. It seems more like a scam and not worth having the insurance with them. We have used other companies in the past that were much more reputable and responsive.
