Years ago, I learned the value of having pet insurance when my first German Shepherd had a reaction to an antibiotic that almost killed him. With my latest dog, we decided to switch to Healthy Paws because of the simplicity of filing claims, and its straightforward reimbursement process. From the beginning, our experience with Healthy Paws has been nothing short of amazing -- especially when our dog became very ill with an autoimmune disease that required expensive diagnostics and medications. There was no pushback whatsoever, no repeated requests for additional documentation, and no questions about his treatment. I cannot say enough about this company, or its people. I have a young little shorkie that has the tendency to eat things off the ground, apparently she ate a piece of bark and got stuck in her intestine. She has IBS issues so i just assumed she was not feeling well, but 5 days later she stopped eating and had to rush her to the ER in Santa Cruz.
