A Must-Have

I wish my insurance was as good as my dog's! Seriously, Healthy Paws is the best. The premium is low, the deductible is low, and the coverage is great. When my dog ate an enormous bar of dark chocolate in the middle of a blizzard (true story) and we had to take him to the ER an hour away, we were so relieved to know that Healthy Paws would have our backs and reimburse 80% of the costs, once we met the deductible. It was true peace of mind knowing we could tell the doctors to do whatever they had to do to save our pet. When we got home, we filed the claim in 30 seconds, and received a check for reimbursement in NO time. Healthy Paws even followed up with us to see how our dog was doing!! I highly recommend Healthy Paws for total peace of mind and ease of experience.

Prompt, fair and stress-free!

If I could give Healthy Paws 10 stars, I would. They were incredibly supportive, compassionate, patient and fair. Several thousands dollars were paid super promptly for intensive/critical care of our puppy.

Avoid Healthy Paws

Disappointed long time customer. Premiums have significantly increased over time. As my pet ages, he has been more sick. They make it a hassle to make claims, i.e.) asking for the pet's entire medical history since I've owned him, claiming he needed a well visit when i adopted him (which I did) even though it's not in the original policy. Basically, they will kindly take your premiums for years and find every way to avoid reimbursing you when your pet gets sick. I'm canceling, but I suspect that's what they want any way.

Promptly paid $10000 on 3 claims

I am no lover of insurance companies but Healthy Paws paid $10000 on 3 claims for my yellow lab. I got Buddy from the Humane Society who found him roaming the woods. I discovered, after 2 months, that he had stomach problems and suffered from pica, a condition where dogs eat abnormal things (carpeting, wood, stereo cable, plastic bags, etc) when sick then vomit or have dangerous items removed thru surgery. That’s when I got my policy. Over 5 years, 10 vets, including one of best vet schools in the country, tried everything to address his issues but couldn’t discover the cause. He had 2 operations, including emergency surgery to remove a large bleeding tumor not related to his stomach issues. Sadly I had to put him down after a long period of increasing sickness. Healthy paws promptly paid the bills per the contract. They always expressed genuine concern about Buddy. I trust these people and will use them again when I get another dog.
