Couldn't Be Happier

When I first adopted my cat, a friend referred my to Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Insurance is not a fun thing to pay for on a monthly basis when you aren't using your insurance on a regular basis. All it takes is one trip to the vet ER for you to realize what a smart idea it was to buy pet insurance. Health Paws offers a VERY reasonable monthly premium for excellent coverage. Unfortunately, my 3-year-old cat recently swallowed something and needed to have emergency surgery to remove a foreign object from his intestines. No one wants to think about whether they can afford the treatment that is necessary to save their pet's life. For that reason, I am so grateful I signed up for pet insurance through Health Paws. The claim submission process was SO EASY. I just submitted my invoice from the vet ER and Healthy Paws gathered the information and documentation they needed from the provider, and I got my reimbursement check days later. I honestly could not be happier with Health Paws!

Healthy Paws penalizes your pet for getting older

Been a customer for 9 years and have paid thousands of dollars in monthly premiums and for many of those years not getting anything back other than the piece of mind of having insurance for my buddy. I raved over this company and told all my pet parent friends about this company. Now that my buddy is at the end stages of his life (he is 14) and been living with an adrenal tumor and Cushing's disease and with the pandemic, when i need this insurance the most, when i finally after paying for years without getting anything back, they raise my monthly premium $20.00 after raising it last year as well by alot. so i guess the older your pet gets the more you have to pay huh? penalize them for getting older. i can no longer recommend this insurance to anyone. if they are going to penalize your pets for getting older i recommend you look to another company to provide security for your pet.

Easy to Use and Very Helpful

Healthy Paws is providing insurance to both of my cats, Amos and Mindy. While Mindy is perfectly healthy and has not needed any claims, Amos has been a bit sick. Healthy Paws made my claim submission easy and quick. Although I had to get additional information from my vet for final reimbursement, customer services reps were kind enough to walk me through the process. I do not know what I would do without them.

If you want peace of mind that your pet's health is number one, then choose Healthy Paws

Healthy Paws has been by far the best insurance purchase I have ever made. As a multiple pet parent, having Healthy Paws on my side puts my mind at ease that any healthy issue my pups face will be handled and I can just focus on taking care of my pups. I have been a Healthy Paws customer since I first learned about them from a coworker. While primarily my claims have been for relatively minor items (torn dew claw, allergies, etc), the first time I truly saw the value and compassion was when my larger pup Montana injured his right stifle joint. Worried that he had torn his CCL, we apprehensively took him in to our regular vet to get a diagnosis. As expected we were referred to a Orthopedic Vet and our worst fears were confirmed when they said he needed surgery for a luxating patella and possible torn CCL. The consult resulted in a surgical estimate of $5515 at the high end, this is after imaging to confirm no major fractures. While not a small amount it was certainly within our means. What Healthy Paws did first was make sure I was concerned with my pups pre and post-operative care. They concisely informed me what requirements were for medical documentation and invoices and the process to provide that is super easy through their web app. They then made the process even easier when they approved the claim for all of Montana's veterinary, imaging, and surgical bills in less than 48 hours and had the re-imbursement direct deposited into my checking account in total less than 72 hours from me submitting the documents through the web app portal. What Healthy Paws is, an example of an organization that whose primary focus is their customers; the pets they insure, and their owners, the people who derive peace of mind from this coverage. They recognize their existence is to pay for pet's medical needs, not to deny claims to benefit shareholders like other corporate insurance entities. If the world had more organizations that acted like Healthy Paws, then we would live in a significantly different world. I will continue to espouse the values and virtue of Health Paws to all who are interested and have already done so with multiple individuals. If you are looking for a reputable and honorable pet insurance organization, I don't think you can do better than Healthy Paws.

Worth the monthly expense

They have honored the insurance contract and the policy turned out a real financial life saver when our dog's rear kneecaps needed surgery (and additional surgery on one of the legs). After the initial reimbursement, the following reimbursements were quick.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
