My Healthy Paws pet insurance has more…

My Healthy Paws pet insurance has more than doubled in the past 2 years I now pay $123.00 a month and have never used it. Healthy Paws said expect it to keep rising randomly as your pet gets older.

Service Degraded Over the Past Few Years

We started using Healthy Paws about 5 years ago. Over the past year or two since the company was acquired, the service and coverage has become more burdensome for me a customer and covered less aspects of a visit (some policy change and just incorrect classification of a visit). After submitting a claim, which is still an easy process, there's a high chance we'll need to dispute the decision. The last thing I want is to pay monthly for pet insurance only to have to deal with the hassle of slow to respond support when my dog needs it. I don't feel valued as a customer or confidence in the coverage my pet has when they may need it. Looking for pet insurance? Try another company.

Raised rates after claim

my friends referred me to healthy paws and after having 2 seniors dogs with many illnesses I decided to purchase Healthy paws pet insurance with our new rescue who was about 3 years old. This week, at the age of 5, she was diganosed with a seizure disorder. 2 days after I submit the claim they send me an email telling Me my preimums will increase 10 dollars a month but insist it has nothing to do with past claims. Ive had the insurance for 2 years and never used it and now I use it and 2 days later they increase my rates. I have warned all my dog parents to stay away from healthy paws after this interaction. My dog now has a preexisiting condition so we can’t switch insurance companies unless we accept paying for her illness on our own DONT BUY healthy paws!

Absolutely Recommend for Any Pet Parent!! No Hassle Reimbursement

I love, love, love this company. I usually never write reviews, but this company is so fantastic, I felt guilty for not spreading the word. Unfortunately, my poor Labrador who was almost three at the time, had to have TPLO surgery for a torn ACL and meniscus. One day, she started hopping and within minutes, she could only walk on three legs. It was heartbreaking to see. The whole ordeal was a three month long recovery time which required home physical therapy, lots of meds, and kennel rest. The most reassuring part as the financial concerns and knowing my sweet baby girl would be able to walk again. Healthy Paws processed my claim in a week, mailed a check for 90% of the cost, didn’t ask questions about the vet bills, and even checked in to see how she was doing. I had to put in claims for small issues during the earlier parts of her puppyhood, and had great service for those claims as well. The peace of mind I get from having Healthy Paws is immense and I feel I’d be an irresponsible pet parent for not having it. Do yourself and your fuzzy a huge service and get pet insurance. I had a healthy three year old lab and look what we went through. I would have been struggling to have paid a $2500 vet bill. You never know what could happen.
