Submitted a Healthy Paws claim for…
Submitted a Healthy Paws claim for double Cherry Eye surgery my pet had. The process was efficient and seamless.
If you are going back and forth on whether or not you should/should not sign up for Healthy Paws insurance, I will be the first to say I was just like you. I used to be one of those “Why spend money on pet insurance, how much can they honestly get sick?”, and then I came to realize that it was one of the best decisions I have made (aside from adopting my pup of course!). Healthy Paws has LITERALLY saved my puppy’s life.
My puppy at only 8 months old (healthy as can be, might I add) – decided to pick something off the ground on a walk, and swallowed this foreign object. He was not able to pass it so he had to get emergency surgery. Few days later post-op, he became septic from the first surgery, and needed to get another surgery, including a feeding tube + tons of antibiotics. The options I was given were to A: Get the surgery, or B: euthanasia… how could I possibly do this with a healthy 8 month old pup!? Fast forward to today, and my puppy has healed up and Healthy Paws has LITERALLY saved my puppy’s life – without having the insurance, I would not be able to pay for such expensive surgeries.
What we paid overall out of pocket was the cost of JUST the first surgery, meaning that Healthy Paws has saved us over $15K – and we spent under $5K. Also, compared to other pet insurances that have caps on how many claims they can submit, Health Paws is UNLIMITED – which helped us since ours was so high in vet/hospital bills.
Overall, the price per month for Health Paws is SO minimal, I am sure that most spend more on Starbucks/Takeout than they would on the monthly cost of the insurance. Another thought as well – would you go without insurance for a human? I highly doubt that – and to me, this is the same for my dog.
My claims were processed almost every time within 24 – 72 hours, with a check in hand almost immediately following. The customer support team as well throughout the past 3 weeks of everything they have even sent personal emails checking in on him! I only wish my doctor was as kind as them :)
Again, if you are hesitating on signing up for Healthy Paws, please PLEASE take a deeper look at their minimal costs per month, extremely low deductible once you submit your first claim, and the comfort of knowing that if for some reason anything did go wrong with your pet, you are reimbursed anywhere from 70-90% of that cost, depending on the plan you choose! Healthy Paws is something I will invest in for not only this dog, but any other animal I ever adopt in the future. Thank you Healthy Paws! :)
I submitted a claim to Healthy Paws for double Cherry eye surgery that my pup, Cluny Brown had. I submitted the claim and a couple of weeks later the claim was approved. Days later, the money was direct deposited into my account. We received the full amount we were expecting. It was such an easy process.
