Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Had for 5yrs, price increases are a lot. I was told that your pet isn't penalized for sick visits, but this is not the case. I realize rates will rise, I expected a few dollars but my rates have increased $13 each month twice now. I started off paying $42/month and they have increased for the second time and my payments are now $71/month! I picked this insurance because of the annual deductible, and price was good. I have the option to increase my deductible or have less reimbursement but I'll still be paying just as much out of pocket. I work in a vet clinic and recommended this insurance to a lot of people and now I'm really feeling bad. The reason I gave 2 stars, they are good about reimbursing in a timely fashion. After that reply, i want to add I work at a veterinary hospital. Our prices haven't increased in the past 2yrs and when they do go up, they go up maybe $1-$2 per item. I think so many people using the insurance, makes your rates go up...so in other words it is kind of a penalty! $330 increase in 2years? That's not rising vet costs.

We have 5 miniature dachshunds who are all insured through Healthy Paws. I have had to file a few claims in the past 2 years and it has always been a seamless process, quick and easy. I’m writing this review now because Healthy Paws has went above and beyond with helping us through the process as one of our dachshunds had IVDD, which required surgery and then unfortunately had a GI blockage requiring emergency surgery 2 weeks later. Customer service was fabulous with communicating, collecting the medical records from the different surgeons, specialists, etc. I was elated to find out our policy covered acupuncture as well because it is highly recommended during the recovery period. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to have found Healthy Paws as they definitely helped lighten the financial burden and made it easy! An account manager even reached out to us to check on Woodstock after his surgeries, which made me feel like they truly care about their clients.

We have been a Healthy Paws client for 10 plus years now and will remain with Healthy Paws as long as we have dogs in our lives. Healthy Paws is easy to work with, very responsive, and cover pretty much everything outside of normal wellness exams. We tried other pet insurers before settling on Healthy Paws and the difference in service levels is significant.

Not having to question how to pay for the care she needed was huge. It was so easy to upload the invoice to start a claim through the app, and it was processed within 2 days, with constant communication. The customer care team even followed up to see how she was doing. I highly recommend Healthy Paws for their ease of use, care, and quick processing and reimbursement.
