Healthy Paws offers peace of mind from financial worries

I've had Healthy Paws for 3 of my dogs and their customer service has been outstanding. Premiums aren't cheap but neither are the vet bills. It's good to know that when something happens to my dogs, I won't be stressed over the bills. Having to decide if it's financially feasible to get your dog the care it needs is a position that my pet insurance has eliminated. I don't ever want to be in a situation again of having to decide if I can afford the vet care in an emergency. Haven't had any problems with coverage as claims are quickly processed and reimbursements sent in a timely manner.

Healthy Paws made a stressful time better so we could focus on our pet's recovery

Our dog was involved in a pretty severe accident where he was dragged behind our dog sitter's car. He had to be hospitalized for four days, required surgery and has had a month-long recovery. Knowing we had insurance gave us so much relief as we talked through worse case scenarios with the vet hospital. The customer service line answered my calls, and the process to upload the claim was very straightforward.

Healthy Paws gave us peace of mind…

Healthy Paws gave us peace of mind during a very stressful time! Our dog had a very bad accident that required four nights in the vet hospital and multiple follow ups and surgery. We were so grateful to have the assurance and knowledge of insurance to do whatever was needed for our pup!

Disappointed in decline of service

I have been a client for four years. I loved Healthy Paws and recommended them to many friends and family members without trying to get referral money. I didn't need a payout for supporting a company that cares. A recent claim was confusing to me using phrases like, "As such, we are unable to provide coverage for your pet's preventive care," but also, "We will be sending your claim reimbursement shortly." The claim was for an ear and skin infection. I questioned what this meant and said we would need to re-think our pet insurance if infections aren't covered and part of preventative care. In my opinion, the reply was just as cold and rude, "I recommend reviewing the Explanation of Benefits that was provided in your claim email as that outlines what was covered versus not covered. The email gives an explanation as to what was not eligible for coverage based on the line items on the invoice you submitted. I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team with any additional questions after reviewing your Explanation of Benefits." There is no comment on which line items are being referred to in my explanation of benefits. It's a bunch of paragraphs that start with, "See also Section, DEFINITIONS, items," but which section is being referred per sections of my vet bill? During previous health scares, I remember I would get emails from kind-hearted people asking how my pets were. Now I'm just a number that gets pushed off on someone else.
