Run as fast as you can from this company.

Horrible claim service. Requested notes from the Vet. Dog is only 2 years old with no preexisting conditions. Claims denied due to "preexisting conditions". On the phone now to cancel my coverage.

Upfront Work Pays When Your Pet Gets Sick

While getting "set up" is a bit of a challenge (I needed duplicative paperwork from the rescue agency and my vet.... and had to harass the vet to send a bunch of info.), it has been well worth it as our dogs have had a myriad of (not inexpensive) issues since we adopted them. Submitting claims couldn't be simpler, reimbursement is super fast, and customer service is highly responsive! I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws.

Fair and quick claims process

We switched to HealthyPaws pet insurance from another insurance company in late 2020 due to lower premiums. We have been really impressed with the quality of the customer service and the ease of making a claim, as well as the coverage. My dog is a medical miracle in a BAD way. She has had thousands of dollars worth of health issues since adopting her a little over a year ago, including 3 broken teeth, kennel cough multiple times, skin infections, and most recently, a CCL tear which required surgery. HealthyPaws has yet to deny a claim that I expected they would cover. In the case of the broken teeth, I was actually shocked that they reimbursed me because at least one of the teeth was listed as broken on her record when I adopted her (I had filed the claim just in case). Large claims sometimes take longer than their advertised 10 days to review, and you may have to call a few times to check on the progress and what supporting documents they need (this is annoying), but the customer service representatives are helpful, respectful, and the claim has always ended up being covered for us, so that part is not a huge deal. The only negative I have heard about HealthyPaws (which hasn't happened to us yet) is that they will raise your pet's rates over time as they age. Competitors, like TruPanion for example (which we switched from), lock in your pet's rate for its lifetime. Overall, really satisfied with the coverage, the speed of claims process, and the customer service. I would estimate we have saved at least $5,000 with Healthy Paws in this year alone.

Great coverage, customer service, and cost

We are really pleased with the coverage, customer service, and pricing of HealthyPaws. I switched to HealthyPaws from another company in late 2020 due to lower premiums. My dog is a medical miracle, NOT in a good way, and we are usually at the vet at least once per month. She had mange, separation anxiety and skin allergies when we adopted her, has had kennel cough multiple times, gotten 2nd degree sunburn, got pink eye, broke three teeth in an accident, and most recently tore her CCL which required surgery. My only complaint is that in the case of her dental extraction and her CCL surgery, the claims process took longer than 10 days and I had to call multiple times to identify the holdup and produce the supporting documents they needed (in my opinion, HealthyPaws should contact ME to let me know that they need those documents to proceed). This is worth it, though, when the claim ends up being covered and when my dog's policy is $30/month cheaper with HealthyPaws than the company we switched from. We will see how rates change as she ages - HealthyPaws maintains the right to increase premiums over time, which other companies do not do.
