Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We have been a customer since 2017 and have been referring friends to healthy paws for years as an affordable option and have appreciated your customer service. However we’ll no longer be able to do that. Our premiums have skyrocketed over the past few years and we just want other current and potential future customers to be aware of these. 2017 -- $52.37 2018 -- $57.61 2019 -- $69.83 2020 -- $104.74 2021 -- $157.11 2022 — $200.40 We want to maintain some level of protection for our pet but have to downgrade our plan because it has become unaffordable. It seems like when they were taken over by Westchester they’ve lost their way a bit in terms of a providing support for those with animals…and thus the animals themselves are the real losers.

We've had a few different pet insurances over the years with our dogs and I have to rate Healthy Paws the best as far as customer service, ease of claim process, amount of coverage and promptness of reimbursement. 10 paws all the way!

Company is a total scam. I put a claim in, supplied all vet documents and was declined due to needing more documents which is impossible to produce. All they do is give you the runaround.

The old adage about insurance applies: it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. My girlfriend and I purchased policies for our dogs several years ago, but never really needed to use them. Suddenly, my dog began suffering from a mysterious chronic illness this year. Thanks to a great team of vets, he got a diagnosis and received the treatment he needed. Thanks to Healthy Paws, the testing and treatment didn’t devastate my savings. I couldn’t be happier and fully expect to maintain the policy for the rest of my dog’s life.

When our dog started vomiting and refusing to eat/drink, we knew we needed to get him to the vet, but of course this all happened on a Sunday when our vet was closed. Having Healthy Paws pet insurance gave us the peace of mind that we could take him to the emergency vet hospital and have them perform all the necessary tests without worrying about the bill. The claims process was so easy and we received the reimbursement within a couple of weeks. I would recommend Healthy Paws to all pet parents!
