My dog had emergency surgery at an after hour’s emergency vet. It was very expensive but I didn’t hesitate because I knew I could rely on my Healthy Paws insurance. I submitted the claim and was reimbursed in 4 days for everything except the exam fee (which I know is not covered). What a relief!

Claim Review Time is Excessive - Don't Recommend
I've had a lot of difficulty getting my pet's Emergency Visit reimbursed and it's been over 30 days. It took 30 days for a claim representative to finish reviewing the claim and, when I called, the customer service representative wouldn't give me a timeline and wasn't helpful; I asked to speak to a claims representative at the end of the call and she said they don't have direct extensions. Healthy Paws was highly recommended by local pet owners, but I'm starting to regret choosing this as my pet insurance. It was really scary experience going to the Emergency Vet.
Highly do NOT recommend this pet insurance. Takes forever to process a claim because they keep asking for medical records even though they were already submitted. I've emailed several times that those were the full medical records, but they keep asking for more like labs and xrays. My dogs never needed those tests nor had them performed, yet they are still asking for them. My dogs also received vaccines from Seeaca and Humane Society. They still want those records from the time before joining. I called and the representative still asked for them. They do not even offer wellness plans, so I do not understand why they needed those vaccine records. I highly, HIGHLY DO NOT recommend Healthy Paws.
Our 4 year old dog Candy recently had to have major back surgery, she had a severe ruptured disc and could not walk or urinate. It was very sudden and we don’t how it happened. Thank goodness for Healthy Paws. Candy’s hospital stay was 10 days and included physical therapy. She is now home and still recovering. Healthy Paws was there when we needed it most and the claim process was easy, and paid in a matter of DAYS. I’m so glad we chose Healthy Paws when looking for pet insurance! Thank you Healthy Paws!!

Recommend to every pet owner
I am so grateful to have chosen HealthyPaws as my dog's insurance policy company. My dog started to limp at a very young age and a few months after extensive imaging was diagnosed with Elbow Dysplasia and needed to get surgery. Healthypaws and their customer service was and continues to be absolutely impeccable. They always review the claims within 2-3 days, keep you updated with every step of the process, and will let you know once the claim has been reviewed and completed. The reimbursement checks are sent out within 2 days of reviewal and completion of claims. They are quick, efficient, and very professional. I wouldn't have been capable to afford the all of the medical bills if I didn't have Healthypaws. One CT scan was close to ~ $1,800, not to mention x-rays, medications, Rehab! Having a sick/injured pet is extremely stressful, and even though all pet owners want to provide their fur companions with the best care, finance is a concern when the bills begin to add up to multiple thousands. Knowing that I had Healthypaws, made it so I had one less thing to worry about. I didn't have to worry about waiting for months before getting the reimbursements, I could provide my fur baby with the proper medical care he needed and I can't thank Healthypaws enough for that. The only con I feel the need to mention is that there's no regulations in regards to premium change, our monthly premium went from ~ $37 a month to ~$51 a month in 2 years (my dog is 2 years 1/2 years old), there's no telling how high the premium can/will increase. In summary, Healthypaws is an insurance company you won't regret getting.
