Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My Citi is only 5 and in mid August unexpectedly went into acute renal failure. She was in the hospital for 6 days, then needed to go to the vet multiple times a week for the next few weeks. After that it was once a week for 2 months, and now she is down to going once a month. With the hospital, various medications, and necessary bloodwork at each visit, the bills added up quickly. It literally would take me less than 5 minutes to upload my invoices to the healthy paws website and I was paid through direct deposit within a week of submitting each invoice. They never questioned any bill. With everything that was going on, I can't tell you how much the ease of this was appreciated. I love this company and highly recommend them. PS Citi wasn't supposed to live past Labor Day (2023). She has made a miraculous full recovery!

Our golden had a GDV (stomach flipped) emergency, and would not have survived without extensive surgery to save his life. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance came through for us, reviewed and paid the claim in a timely manner. We are completely satisfied, the coverage was there when we needed it!

I honestly didn’t think much of pet insurance companies and even considered not having one as I thought it would be a waste of money because insurance companies never pay out anyway, so why pay them a monthly subscription? I’m so happy that I was wrong and I can confidently say that Healthypaws has exceeded all my expectations. Their smooth, very streamlined, straightforward process and web portal for claim submissions etc. is the best I’ve ever seen. Seriously: many of the human health insurance companies could learn a thing or two from them. I’m recommending Healthypaws to all my friends who are pet owners (been doing so for a few years now).

I should have left this company four years ago when I had my first and only claim. The claim process was an absolute nightmare and took several weeks to get figured out. Over the last several years they have raised my rates from originally around $20 to nearly $50 a month. So when I recently switched to a new company, I did not notice that there was a two week waiting Period. So I went back to Healthy Paws on the day that I had asked them to cancel it to ask if I can keep it until my new one went into effect. They knew the 2 week wait period and should have reminded me of that instead of basically SEE YA and there is nothing we can do. So… They did absolutely nothing for me. They could care less if my dog had coverage or not for the next couple of weeks. The responses from whoever was sending emails to me, was a complete jerk. I finally had to tell them to stop emailing me back I would not recommend this company to anyone and I’m not really sure why they rank so high. Healthy paws… I’m so disappointed in your lack of caring and customer service.
