Great protection
My dog Sweetpea is eight. I got Healthy Paws when she was 15 weeks old. She’s had bladder stone surgery twice and is now on meds for Cushings. The insurance has paid as promised every time I’ve submitted a claim. I’m very happy with their performance.

Fraud
I have used Healthy Paws since 2018. I have a large mixed breed dog and opted in for the premium coverage at 90%, paying $208.40 a month. In March 2023, I had a fraud detection on my credit card and needed to replace my credit card. I had auto payments set up on Healthy Paws and forgot to update payment on the app.
This happened previously in Oct 2022 when my CC expiration date passed. They notified me via email and on the app notifications. I updated payment immediately and there was no issue, no lapse in the policy. This time however, I received no notifications of a missed payment (not via mail, email, phone call, or app). I asked for proof of notification and received none. Mind you, I have all other email correspondence receipts (every time the premium increased, every change to the policy, I have proof of all other emails with Healthy Paws), but there was not one notification of this missed payment for 2023. The only email I received was on April 23rd 2023, saying my policy was cancelled due to missed payment.
I reached out immediately. They said they would not reinstate my policy even if I paid right away. Further more, because of my dog's age I was also not allowed to sign up as a new member. Over the last five years, I have not missed one payment, and I only filed 1 single claim in 2020. My claim got me a total of $15 refund and immediately increased my premium, so I never filed again and decided to only file should the worst happen (cancer at old age, etc.). None of this mattered. They would not reinstate or offer any help. I paid thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing. Now, as my dog is 10 years old, I am not able to sign up for a new policy at this or any other insurance provider. I have no recourse. They don't care, why would they? I already paid them over $8K.
Healthy Paws is Outstanding! I would rate it at 10 stars if I could! Great customer service ~ claims reimbursed promptly as promised with a detailed explanation of benefits.
My dog had to have a pacemaker implanted ~ with a bill of almost $10,000. I submitted all the paperwork ~ no questions ~ I was reimbursed within a few days. Can’t say enough good things about Healthy Paws!
My golden doodle (2.5 years old) recently faced a serious health concern that had both long term health as well as immediate financial impact. In the midst of these stressful life events, it was extremely simple to navigate the Healthy Paws app to submit claims. I remember early on, enrolling into the product was super streamlined as well. I think the Healthy Paws team has figured out the optimal balance of direct customer interaction (via emails etc ) vs self serve technology that is simple to use. I have been very impressed with the claim processing workflow that gives the customer a clear sense of processing times, explanations for coverage etc. Very happy with the Healthy Paws team and looking forward to a long continuing relationship.

You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.

Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*

Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
