Great Experience, outside of the usual pet insurance limitations.
After having Healthy paws for 5 years without much of a need for them, my dog began having spinal issues and IVDD surgery twice which I was billed $9k each time!
The first time expensing it to Healthy Paws was a little bit of an effort since they do need the official full historical report from your vet before paying anything out. However, the second time was seamless--I had made 5 easy claims up to the point of the surgery and they quickly paid me out each time, all they need is the official invoices.
Something important things to be mindful of that may result in disappointment--but I think these are the case with any pet insurance:
1. As far as I know--they do NOT COVER PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS or VISITATION FEES. The first is a bummer, the latter can rack up without realizing it.
2. Once you make a claim, you can't change your plan, so you're either locked in, or go somewhere else that won't cover any new pre-existing conditions that occurred while covered here.
Outside of these, Healthy Paws really has great customer service on the phone every time I've called, and they've paid out quite quickly and efficiently on every claim.
