Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We decided to use Healthy Paws because, with two big young Labradors, we figured something was bound to go wrong with an injury or eating something they weren't supposed to. We used it regularly when one was put on medication for environmental allergies. Never did we imagine that our 3-year-old Lab would fall victim to the mysterious pneumonia that has been widely publicized. We were heartbroken when, after five days at the emergency vet on oxygen, numerous medications, and the illness worsening, we had to let her go. When we submitted a substantial bill, we were not questioned about the charges for the care given, and they offered their condolences. Healthy Paws canceled the policy for our dog that passed without being asked while keeping everything in place for our other dog. The unused portion of the monthly payment was refunded. Losing such a young dog is tragic, but knowing we had Healthy Paws insurance allowed us to focus on care instead of cost. Healthy Paws' response couldn't have been more supportive. One of my dogs tore her left acl, then 3 months later, she tore her right. Healthy Paws reimbursed us 80% of the cost for each. They also have reimbursed us for medications that are used for her pain. Having them has given us piece of mind. They even checked in with us to see how she was doing.
