We have insured our cats and dogs with Healthy Paws!
We have insured our cats and dogs for year with Healthy Paws. So easy to work with, easy to submit claims, what is covered and what is not. They have no lifetime max which is incredibly important. Our kitten recently had a urinary tract blockage, which can be fatal. Our vet removed the blockage, but then he had to spend the weekend in the hospital. Thousands of dollars were spent to save him. He is now home safe and sound. With Healthy Paws behind us there was not a moment of hesitation to spend all that money on his care. We love our animals as our family.
Healthy paws has insured our dogs and cats for years. The premiums have always been reasonable and the policies are pretty straight forward. I have the ability to receive pet insurance from my employer at a discounted rate, but when I compared them, its worth it to stick with Healthy Paws. Submitting and being reimbursed for claims is extremely easy. There is no lifetime max. As a long time animal owner that is incredibly important. The costs can be astronomical. Our kitten just got sick with a urinary tract blockage which can be life threatening. Our vet removed the blockage but he had to spend the weekend at the hospital as he needed continued care. It was thousands of dollars we would have spent it regardless but it was wonderful knowing we had Healthy Paws to reimburse us. Highly recommend them!

They will not be there for you when you need them the most
I have had this insurance on my dog for almost 12 years and in the last two years they’ve gone up on my premium over $200 per month. My dog is an excellent health but now they know that it is the most vulnerable stage of his life and they’re placing me in a situation where I may not be able to afford to keep the policy. This forces me to have to look for other insurance which will have waiting periods something you should not have to worry about after you paid for a policy for years and when you fear you may need it the most you’re forced out of it because the company is greed and very poor management. Are used to be a big fan of this company until I had to go through the claims process with them a few times and had a pet that lives long enough to reach the stage thank goodness Where they show their true colors in the lack of loyalty that they had to the clients our care for the well-being of your animal. I no longer have the peace of
mind knowing that I had quality insurance in case my dog needed medical care. This is my main complaint but their claims process is ridiculous. if you submit a claim they will lose your invoice almost every time and the larger the claim the more they lose and the more excuses they come up with for not paying. Therefore , I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking reliable coverage for their Pet’s medical needs
I got Blue, my baby girl when she was only 4 months. At first I was very indecisive about getting pets insurance or not, since she was still young and she looked like a normal healthy puppy, but my dog mom side pushed me to get it as a backup, since I never wanted to think about putting a pet down due to their Vet bills.
I can tell you that has been the best decision ever, Blue ended up being a frequent flyer to the vets office, her GI issues were non stop and on and off every 2-3 months; so many labs, medications, tests were done trying to figure out what was going on with her, until after a year of testing for autoimmune diseases and rotating diets, a blood allergy test told us was wrong.
Her belly was fine, but now, a mass showed up on her neck! Because of her age (she had just turned 3yo) the vet didn’t think it could be something bad (it was). She was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, had to have surgery, followed by visits to the oncology area.
On this journey, healthy paws has paid claim after claim. Filing is as simple as uploading a picture of the receipt, and you are done! They’ve never denied Blue a test, a medication or a surgery, and they pay back in 2-3 days. I even joke around with friends and family saying that she has a better insurance than I do, but honestly, she does, and it makes me so happy having the peace of mind that, I can fight for her and her health without having to worry about medical bills piling up.
Their customer service is also very good. They’ve emailed me asking for Blue and her progress and the only time I needed to call to update some information over the phone I was on hold for less than 5 minutes.
TLDR. Get your pet insurance, you never know what can happen, Healthy paws has been the best decision I’ve taken for Blues well-being and my peace of mind.
