Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

When we first decided to get pet insurance, I did lots and lots of research. I was so wary about all of the companies I was looking at. The ones with the best payouts had not so great reviews. I came across Healthy Paws when I was looking through my AAA magazine, and was very pleased with all the positive customer service reviews I saw. Almost 2 years later, I want to add to those positive reviews. From the beginning they have been amazing. The spring following our sign up with Healthy Paws, Seamus began showing symptoms of allergies. He had to be tested, diagnosed, and put on a daily serum. None of this was any problem whatsoever. Every claim was processed and mailed out within 48 hours. There was never any surprises either. My latest experience is what really made me want to share my experience with Healthy Paws. About a week and a half ago Seamus began throwing up. At first it seemed like an upset stomach, but two days later he was in surgery. He had a piece of a toy stuck in his intestines that needed to be removed. He came home the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. That was when I used the Healthy Paws App to take a picture of the invoice and file my claim. Within an hour, I received an email that the claim was being processed. Tuesday, the check was in the mail. From what I've heard of other insurance companies, even if it wasn't a holiday weekend this turnaround time was fabulous. Everything was covered. They even sent an email sending Seamus well

Healthy Paws is by far the best pet insurance out there. They are NOT all the same. I had VPI for many years and they didn't come close to covering what Healthy Paws does. I receive my reinbursement check from Healthy Paws within 1 week and the claims process is super easy. VPI made everything a difficult process and only ended up covering 30-35% of my actual bills. With Healthy Paws, I get reimbursed 90% of my actual bill not according to an unrealistic "benefits schedule" like VPI. I will insure every pet I ever own with Health Paws without a second thought. Because of Healthy Paws, I was able to get my Bulldog a hip relplacement I could not have otherwise been able to afford. I usually don't spend the time writing reviews, but I really want people to know that Healthy Paws is the best pet insurance they will find. Even if it costs a few dollars more, it is absolutely worth it. I truly can't say enough good things about this company - I am so happy I found them after my terrible experiences with VPI.

Healthy Paws has been great for us! Denali was diagnosed with a problem in her front legs which required surgery. We have completed the first of two surgeries to correct the problem, and in a couple months will be going through her second. So far Healthy Paws has been amazing. We send in the invoices for whatever she needs, and within the same day we get an email letting us know it's being processed, and then another email, usually later that same day saying it is completed! There have been no coverage issues, everything is exactly as it was described! Even after her first surgery, I got an e-mail a few days later from Tim with Healthy Paws just to ask how Denali is doing. It felt like very personal service. I would suggest Healthy Paws to anyone and everyone who gets a pet.

If I could I give them 10 stars I would. Honey Girl needed a root canal. YES a root canal! Talk about expensive! I was reimbursed 80% less the $100 deductible. PLUS their entire staff have been extremely helpful, supportive and friendly. This company is responsible and they do what they promise in a timely way. It was heart wrenching when our dog let out a yelp and started hopping around on three legs, holding the left in the air as the result of a problem with her knee and a torn ACL. It was difficult to hear the diagnosis indicating that this was not something that would repair itself. But, we knew we would immediately get the best care for her because Healthy Paws insurance was there to back us up. Nearly two years ago, we had surgery performed, spent 12 weeks recovering and couldn't be happier with the result. More importantly, we couldn't be happier with the responsiveness of Healthy Paws that made it financially possible for us to seek out some of the best canine orthopedic help. Once the claim was filed, payment was in our hands within just a few days. Didn't even take a week! Wish our human health insurance worked so well. Three weeks ago, the same surgery was needed on our dog's right leg and, once again, Healthy Paws came through. We recommend them to everyone. Premiums are reasonable and the peace of mind knowing we can seek help and get quick reimbursement is priceless.
