Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I did extensive research when looking for Pet Insurance and chose Healthy Paws. The level of customer service and claims process has been stellar since June 2014 when I enrolled my two West Highland White Terriers. To prove my point my 17 month old Westie was diagnosed with pancreatitis and admitted to the ICU on Saturday. She was discharged on Thursday with a bill of close to $5k. I submitted the claim the day of discharge and was notified the next day the check was in the mail. The check arrived on Wednesday because of the Labor Day holiday. Healthy Paws paid 90% of the entire bill. Unfortunately, my Westie has some congenital medical issues that added up to close to $15k over the course of 17 months. All claims were paid quickly and her medical issues have not affected her particular plan. She will continue to be covered by Healthy Paws until should decide to terminate her coverage. The client care department also emails me to see how she is doing. How awesome is that? I would NEVER change pet insurance.

A team of amazing veterinarians were able to treat her successfully, and I can’t describe how emotional the experience was….I was nervous about submitting the claim, partly because of the emotional state I was in, but also because I had never had a good experience with insurance companies (only auto insurance at that point). The claims submission process was as simple as uploading the vet’s invoice online. A few days later I received an email stating my reimbursement check was on it’s way. Then another personal email checking up on Lana. They truly care and allow us to focus on our loved ones….

Its our first time having pet insurance and have used it more than we would have ever thought for our Border Collies. Our female had an infection, and our male got hit by a car and needed surgery. Filing the claims is so simple, and they respond so quickly and we received the check quickly. They are also easy to call with any questions regarding claims. We have already recommended them to our friends. Its definitely worth it.

When I decided to get health insurance for my puppy I read all the reviews and decided to go with Healthy Paws. Who knew back then that deciding on them would be such a great decision. While on vacation my dog Cheers was diagnosed with a neurological disorder that required $3,500 of veterinary care. I had my vet submit her records to Healthy Paws and when I got home my reimbursement was waiting for me. I was truly impressed!
