Accolades for Healthy Paws

One hopes never to need to rely on pet insurance, but when the situation arises it is important to know that the company you chose is honest, reliable, dependable and caring about your pet. Healthy Paws is such a company. They have been there for me every step of the way when our dog required unexpected back-to-back surgeries. Their rates are reasonable, their response to questions is swift and their reimbursements are prompt. Furthermore, the process from start to finish is made clear and easy on the Healthy Paws website. We have been subscribers to Healthy Paws for 8 years and they have stood behind their promise throughout.

Completely unhelpful

Completely unhelpful, insensitive and useless. Did not help my cat at all in a serious condition.

I am very satisfied with Healthy paws…

I am very satisfied with Healthy paws pet insurance. My dog recently had major orthopedic surgery. I received reimbursement within 7 days of submitting my claim. They even sent me a follow-up email inquiring how my dog was doing post surgery. They are quick to respond to my questions and concerns. Healthy paws does not have a yearly or lifetime cap on reimbursement.

There when you need it the most.

Healthy paws has been a great partner in maintaining the health of my poodle. They have expeditiously honored all claims (according to contract) and with Healthy Paw's backing, I felt I could turn hard decisions into easy ones and give my pet the proper medical care he deserves.

Chubb bought and ruined Healthy Paws

Since Chubb bought them in April 2024 there's been a distinct shift in how they treat customers. They deny everything, claims people are downright rude and they've cut coverage and increased prices. No longer offer a 90% reimbursement. Max is 80% and it's more expensive than the 90% was. Go elsewhere. HealthyPaws is definitely no longer any good.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
