My partner and I had friends tell us to get health insurance for our pup, and laughed it off -- after all, he was barely 4 months, what could go wrong? 2 days after our waiting period ended, we discovered that Gunther (french bulldog puppy) was dragging his paws, indicating neurological dysfunction. After a $2,000 MRI, we realized the only option was a $6,000 surgery to save him from a cyst that had developed on his spine. This $8,000 doesn't include the probably $1,500 worth of in-between appointments and $500 worth of therapeutic toys and medication we ended up cashing in on during the entire process. I can honestly say we probably couldn't have provided him with this option without HealthyPaws-- my partner and I were financially ready for a puppy, but not for this. They are quick to reply to claims, the customer service staff is empathetic and patient, and the app is user-friendly and easy. I highly recommend the app to anyone that asks me in my personal life. They timely checked in on us post-surgery to see how he was doing, and continue to impress me through my short 2 months in working with them. I have friends that have experienced awful pet health insurance, and I can confidently say that I have fully appreciated my time working with HealthyPaws.

I can’t say enough good things about our Healthy Paws experience! Unfortunately our young shepherd didn’t make it through a fast moving bout with encephalitis, as we racked up over $4000 of vet bills over a period of 3 days. Healthy Paws honored everything their plan says it covers and they did it in a very expedient manner. Each claim we submitted, they processed within 24 hours and we received our checks within a week. Also, when they noticed on one of our claims that our pet had to be euthanized, they automatically closed his policy and sent a personalized condolences note along with well wishes for our other dog. In reading some of the negative reviews given to Healthy Paws, several sound like they were misunderstandings of the terms. This is not a preventative maintenance/wellness plan. It is an insurance plan designed to cover unexpected situations that arise with your pets. Healthy Paws covered our prescriptions, diagnostic test and any other treatment associated with the care of our pet during these difficult times. They do not cover exams but that is clearly stated in the contract. I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone seeking quality pet insurance. Sign up early while your pet is young and healthy. You will have the peace of mind knowing that you can allow your vet to run the gamut of tests necessary to diagnose your pet properly while being protected financially from any unexpected issues that arise with your pet in the future. So far I am very pleased. First off, *this site, petinsurancereview.com, is amazing! Based on information here, I decided to insure my 2 dogs with HealthyPaws. Shortly after submitting my application I noticed an email I'd received from them a couple of days ago offering on-going discounts and waiving their application fee of $25. I wrote to them and explained that I'd just seen the email and asked if these benefits could be applied to my new account. I heard back from them in a timely manner and they went above and beyond in their response to my request! They waived the $25 fee and lowered my monthly premium rate! I was very pleased with their quick reply and generosity!I look forward to working with HealthyPaws Pet Insurance for years to come!
