Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My large breed mixed lab suffered a full ACL tear requiring TPLO surgery. Having gone through this same injury five years earlier with my golden, I fully understood the ramifications of the injury to the dog and my pocketbook ($5,000 alone for the surgery cost). I also understand the time required post-surgery to heal and the need for rehab for several months. Luckily, this time I had insurance. I was unsure if the surgery would be covered in addition to the rehab but Healthy Paws paid 90% as stated in the policy. Reimbursment was fast and the customer care was excellent. My lab is healing wonderfully due to the work of my fantastic surgeon and the rehab at the same vet clinic. Thanks to Healthy Paws, my girl is able to run again and be a dog, and I can rest easy not having to pay out all that money again.

They are full of compassion and understanding of what pet parents go through during their pet illness. My beloved dog passed away last week at the age of 5 after a brief struggle with liver disease. She will always stay in our hearts, and you know what else will be there !? The way they processed the claim (which we submit after the dog passed away) in less than 24 hours!! you can tell they did that in a full understanding of what we are going through, let alone the very sincere condolences they sent us, and the fact they canceled the policy on their own. They were there for us throughout all of Bodey’s treatments and their kindness and understanding helped provide hope. They paid out 90% of all Bodey’s bills which totaled over $23,000.00. It was comforting to know that we were able to afford to give him comfort and quality care to the end. We were so impressed with Healthy Paws that we immediately insured our new puppy with them. We didn’t even consider shopping around. Thank you Healthy Paws! We couldn’t have given our boy the care he needed.

Over the course of the last year and a half we have had many issues with one of our dogs, RJ, a big loveable golden retriever. We spend half of the year in the US and the other half in Spain and during all the travel, climate changes, allergy triggers and countless other things, RJ was not fully healthy.
