Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

******DO NOT go to them if you have rescue animals!!!!******** Originally I got an email from them upon claim submission that they need all medical record AFTER, let me repeat, AFTER my dog joined our family. I even called and made sure I have nothing else missing. My dog is a rescue we adopted him 6 months ago. The first occasion to a vet was a month ago with the symptom on the claim. Now they sent me this on email: "A pet....ON THE DATE OF ENROLLMENT must have undergone a COMPLETE clinical examination. " If I can't provide this, "any signs and symptoms noted (in claims submitted) would NOT be eligible for coverage." because they will consider those as pre-existing condition. Luckily, I can provide since the dog was an owner surrender. and I know which vet they used. But most dogs at rescue or shelters don't have any medical records. **********DO NOT use this insurance for rescue animals!!!!!!!!*********

We have had Healthy Paws insurance for several years. This is the second review that I have posted regarding them . Recently my four year old dog was in such pain that he could not get up. Our vet diagnosed him with severe arthritis. He is only four years old, they have us pain meds and told us to rest him. After that treatment, upon recommendations from several people we took him to a licensed vet trained in acupuncture and chiropractic medicine . I looked up my policy with Healthy Paws and found that these treatments , from a licensed vet, were covered according to my policy . What a great relief ! We chose Healthy Paws as an accident/illness policy for situations like these. Long term meds and treatments . We chose the 100 dollar deductible and 90% reimbursement. They pay promptly. If I'd had to call or email them , I get quick and friendly service . My Bear is improving ... we have meds and treatment for him . Thanks to Healthy Paws
