Grateful for Healthy Paws

We have had Healthy Paws insurance since our Labrador was first brought home as a puppy. They were recommended to us by a friend. Our puppy is now 2.5 and has had several emergency visits to the ER with stomach distress followed by surgeries to remove objects from his belly that he has swallowed (a hat, clothes, toys). These surgeries were expensive - tens of thousands of dollars in total. Healthy Paws has reimbursed each claim without issue. We have had concerns of being dropped by them because of our dog's anxiety/swallowing objects but it has not happened. The claims are easily submitted via their app by taking photos of the invoices. Then, a check arrives a couple weeks later. Our dog is happy and healthy and we cannot recommend these guys more highly. They insure our less-needy kitty, as well :)

Glad I decided to get Healthy Paws

Before getting Healthy Paws insurance, I didn't think it was something we needed. After all, my dog is an inside dog and I'm pretty neurotic about everything she eats, where she goes, etc. Boy was I wrong! You can never anticipate what could go wrong. Like someone dropping food on the floor at a party. This one incident alone was a 3 day hospital stay totaling over $3k! Healthy Paws paid the claim right away and even checked in to see how she was recovering. I've been with Healthy Paws for 3 yrs and I am so grateful that I got the insurance. Highly recommend to all my friends...even the "careful" ones

teeth problems gone

Katinka, our Shepard-mix dog, was adopted from a nearby pound. She was found in a ditch, tiny and about 6 weeks old. Now, a good year later, she is a big beautiful dog. But her teeth didn’t develop correctly, she is missing a lot of the protective enamel on her teeth (enamel hypoplasia). A specialist could improve this by protecting her teeth with a sort of lacquer - a resin bonding. We made an appointment with a dental specialist. They made an x-ray and found in the back of her mouth 2 blocked teeth, and these had to be taken out. Healthy Paws covered a very large portion of this whole big procedure ! (pre- operation blood work, x-rays, anesthesia, surgical extraction, treatment for the enamel hypoplasia). We are happy that we got Katinka’s teeth protected and prevented the likely problems down the road. It did work out well to have Katinka insured with Healthy Paws. For sure, it is a very good feeling to know that our two dogs and two cats are covered well! We are very glad we have insurance with Healthy Paws for all our lovely furry pals.

Totally recommend healthy paws.

I'm a student with a limited income and my dog means everything to me. Getting my girl insurance was one of the best decisions I've made. My doggie is very healthy but turned out to be an orthopedic mess. Healthy Paws has helped me greatly in providing her the best medical care available. She has undergone surgery for both elbows and recently got her ACL repaired, and healthy paws has covered 90% of these two expensive procedures.

They are good, but have been slow to pay claims

Healthy Paws gets a "9" instead of a "10" because we've had several claims for repeat treatments relating to a UTI -- and it has taken too long to recent the reimbursement checks. Longer than a month for the most recent claim. The coverage is good and the premiums are reasonable, so I can't complain too much.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet
