This was my second claim for my Shih tsu. Same diagnosis of HGE. Took her to an emergency VEG facility. Were she was given excellent care. I submitted my claim to Healthy Paws. My claim was accepted with no issues. I was reimbursed with no hassle accordingly to my insurance coverage. I highly recommend this pet insurance company.
Rates have doubled in the time my pet has been covered. They don’t cover allergy meds which has been our biggest expense over the years. Will not be using them for future pets
Healthy Paws has turned unrecognizable; what was once a good company, sucks, today. Half of my calls to Healthy Paws are disconnected by their incompetent, off-shore, Customer Service (a misnomer) personnel. Healthy Paws has outsourced their once USA/domestic Customer Service, to a Third-World country, abominable, call center for Customer Support. These, off-shore personnel are as incompetent as is their command of the English language. Multiple claims that we have sent to Healthy Paws, via email, have been lost; in addition, we no longer receive the automatic reply that we used to receive, when we filed a claim. Healthy Paws has turned unrecognizable, and unacceptable. We have been clients of Healthy Paws for over 20 years, with multiple dogs, and we are stuck with Healthy Paws, as our dogs are sufficiently old to have preexisting conditions, which no new insurance company will assume. My best advice to a pet owner, considering Healthy Paws, DON’T, LOOK ELSEWHERE. Healthy Paws sucks.
My dog has been with Healthy Paws for 9 years on the 12th of December 2025 my dog was taken into emergency & kept until December 16th.
I submitted my claim to Healthy Paws they told me that my policy had changed on the 14th of the month (December) reducing my reimbursement to 70% from 90% !!!
Leaving me with a hefty bill.
I disputed the claim andI’m still waiting to hear back.
This is the second dog that we have had with HP Insurance. The process of submitting claims and receiving feedback/communication was above and beyond what I was expecting. This last claim was the biggest we have ever submitted, even when we had our dog Zoey Peele (RIP). I submitted 65 pieces of paperwork regarding Nala's injury, and when I tell you the process was dummy-proof (LOL), it truly was. I also thought because the bill was so much, that it would take a few months for everything; NOPE! We got back our money within 2 weeks of submitting, and that was right before Christmas, so needed. My co-worker has pet insurance with a different company and could not beleive HP process and quickness. His dog has a major injury months ago and it took them close to 6 months for a $6k claim. Once again thank you so much for making this process so easy.
