Pet Insurance Saves the Day (Again!)
We rescued our Yorkshire Terrier, Button, 5 years ago. I have heard many stories about the cost of veterinary care, so at the time of this rescue, I bought Health Paws insurance through AAA because I never wanted to have a monetary cost of care decide the fate of my best friend.
We have had many emergency situations with this Troublesome Yorkie (with a capital "T"). Button's latest medical emergency involved him eating a few grocery bags that he got into from our grocery bag holder. When it became evident about what he had done, (no need to be graphic), we rushed him in for emergency treatment at the animal hospital. This veterinary visit required x-rays, sonograms, and then a barium test to trace the path of the plastic leaving in his intestines. A two-day stay in the veterinary hospital ensued. Button is on the mend and survived yet another medical situation of his own doing. My checkbook also survived too.
My husband says that our dog has better health insurance than most people in the U.S.A. -- I agree. The Health Paws claims are easy to file, reimbursement is quick, and I have peace of mind knowing my best friend can be taken care of should another emergency occur again. I can handle the costs of well dog care, but I am so grateful to have this insurance for emergencies.
