Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I really don't know what I would have done if I didn't have Healthy paws. I've been paying for insurance for the past 3 years for both of my dogs - and actually hoping I would never have to use it - only because I've never had the experience before and I wasn't sure how it would work out. One of my dogs had an accident and needed double knee surgery. He was in pain and thank God for Healthy paws they processed the refund so quickly and they also sent me periodic emails asking about how our dog was doing - the rep I talked to on the phone was helpful and very sympathetic. This has been a great experience.

We have had Healthy Paws insurance for our cat (approximate age 10) and dog (approximate age 3) for the past 3 years. Our experience with Healthy Paws has been nothing short of amazing. Our beloved cat recently developed congestive heart failure. She has been in-and-out of the emergency hospital several times, and is now under the care of a cardiologist. This care was necessary to save her life. Healthy Paws has paid for virtually everything. In the last month alone, Healthy Paws has paid over $5,000 for her care. This medical care would not have been possible without Healthy Paws. In addition, our Golden Retriever has had various ear infection, allergy and skin issues. Healthy Paws has paid for those conditions, as well. Their customer service is excellent. Filing a claim is as easy as snapping a photo of the veterinarian's invoice and sending it through an app on your phone. Healthy Paws sends several email updates as your claim is being processed, and I generally receive a check within 7-10 days. They are always available to answer any questions. We are forever grateful for our Healthy Paws insurance. If you are considering pet insurance, I highly recommend Healthy Paws. It pays for itself. It is worth it. It gives you the peace of mind to know that you can afford the medical care your pet needs and deserves. Healthy Paws is truly your partner.

We have had pet insurance for 15 years for our pets and have never experience the pathetic treatment we received from Healthy Paws, I am disgusted. Our 7yo Jack Russell somehow developed an abscess in her jaw, possibly from an injury we just don't know. As a result she underwent surgery to remove four teeth due to the abscess. Healthy Paws covered nothing. Most plans do not cover dental cleanings or prophylaxis, and I understand that, this was NOT the case. Had the dental problem came from an injury it is covered, however, I have no idea how this happened, it could very well have been an injury that caused the abscess. I finally found out of the denial almost a month after submission of claim. I would never ever recommend this company. Heading to Nationwide Pet Insurance as advised by my Vets staff.

Once the policy is active, they pay what they say they will, no hassles, no arguments. The website makes it easy to submit claims, you can even set it up to have the reimbursement checks deposited automatically into your bank account My 95-lb dog recently underwent extensive surgery for a torn cruciate ligament in her knee, and not only did Healthy Paws cover all the expenses related to her surgery and hospital stay, but they cover all her rehabilitation (physical therapy, underwater treadmill) which is making all the difference in her quick and strong recovery. When I tell our veterinary care professionals that I have Healthy Paws insurance for our dogs, they are always visibly relieved, because they know I will encourage them to do what is best for my pet, even if it is expensive, because I have the support of a great insurance company behind me. The only suggestion I have is that they re-evaluate what they consider "experimental treatments" (which are not covered under their policies). Stem Cell Therapy is becoming more mainstream, and it would be better for my pets if I could consider that type of treatment if the need arises in the future.

This is our first experience with pet insurance. After the loss of our last dog we wanted to get insurance for our sweet Trooper. Who would have thought he’d go through this injury, but Healthy Paws made our terrible experience easier. Thank God we decided on healthy Paws!
