Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My dog, Doodles, has had a few "issues" with some other dogs and with dermatology problems over the past few years, and I am SO happy that I have Healthy Paws pet insurance to cover the inevitable high cost of emergency hospital visits and treatments. The on-line set-up is terrific and easy to complete without any problems, and the response time for my claims has always been outstanding. I had VIP pet insurance with my previous Lab, and I can honestly say that Healthy Paws is far better and a greater value.

My little Mia is a rescue and a mixed breed puppy (only 1 yr old) so I did not anticipate facing a serious surgery at all much less so early in her life. Having Healthy Paws behind us has made all the difference in the world! I cannot tell you what a relief it has been to be able to just focus on her and not stress over the costs of her surgery. With my previous dogs I didn't have insurance and has made all the difference in the world for me! She is the light of my world and her surgery was very scary to face, but my vet is amazing and the Healthy Paws insurance made it so much better. I have been a Healthy Paws customer for a few years. The claims process is very easy and convenient since I can submit pictures of my invoices via the Healthy Paws phone app. I had not incurred significant pet expenses in excess my plan year deductible until recently. I paid the vet on a Wednesday evening and submitted pictures of my receipt and itemized invoice via the Healthy Paws phone app the same night. The claim was processed on Thursday and I received a direct deposit reimbursement on Monday. Their quick processing time surpassed my expectations! In addition, I received a personalized follow-up email from Healthy Paws to check in on my pet. Worrying about a sick pet is stressful enough. I did not have to worry about the financial burden of the ER bills thanks to Healthy Paw's efficiency in processing my reimbursement.

We have Healthy Paws insurance for all four of our pets - two dogs and two cats. Filing a claim is VERY easy (especially if you use the app) and reimbursement for services is very fast. We have had nothing but POSITIVE EXPERIENCES from Healthy Paws for every claim we've submitted. It was clear from the beginning what was covered (and what wasn't). For us, we wanted insurance to cover any major illnesses or extensive ER visits - we knew that checkups, dental cleanings, vaccines and pre-existing conditions would not be covered. If you've ever taken a pet to the ER vet, then you know those bills add up quickly! I can't say enough good things about having this insurance for our animals! It allows us to make medical decisions for our pets based on what is the right treatment for them, and not based on how much it costs. Our 6 year old dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year, and because we had pet insurance, we were able to give her the care she needed to make a full recovery...a year later she is living life like a puppy - full of energy, happy and healthy. I knew I needed pet insurance once I got a French bulldog just knowing the breed Once I decided I was getting a French bulldog I knew I would need pet insurance knowing the breed. When asking around to those who had pet insurance majority ruled with Healthy Paws. When my puppy had a freak accident at three months old and broke his leg I was so thankful to have pet insurance. Filing each claim was easy and checking the status was clear through email and even easier when you have the app. The customer service is awesome and responsive and even checked in to see how everything was going with recovery. They were very clear in all claims what they covered and did not based on my plan and provided breakdown of everything. You really never know what could happen and I’m thankful to have healthy paws!
