Healthy Paws Pet Insurance was recommended by a friend and we weren't sure if it was worth it but decided to give it a try. It was the best decision we could have made. Our dog was young and healthy when we signed up but now that he is older he had to have some surgeries and we never had to debate if we should have the surgery because of the cost, thanks to Healthy Paws. The claims process is very easy to follow, the payments are prompt and the staff is extremely friendly and caring. We signed up several years ago and have absolutely no regrets. My Max is very naughty and eats a million things he should not. He frequently needs to go to the vet and stay overnight in the sog ICU for observation, fluids, meds. Within 30 minutes a Healthy Paws manager approved a direct pay to the Vet Center where my dog had just spent 3 nights. Previously, direct pay was provided to my dog's vet for a sick visits. Healthy Paws has been a God sent. I can’t say enough good things about them. We got it about six months after we got our pup. My sister’s dog was around 11 and she had a lot of vet bills for her. We thought we would get pet insurance to use when our dog got older. Just before his 2nd birthday we got the devastating news that he had cancer. There were a lot of pathology tests, xrays, and a CT. All of that showed that we need to quickly to remove the tumor. The tumor was in his mouth, so the surgery involved removing some of his mouth and cheek. It was such a stressful time. Everything happened so quickly. After every appointment we would take a picture of the receipt and submit it using the app on our phone. We had heard horrible stories about pet insurances that wouldn’t cover anything and were a bit nervous. It took a few weeks for them to get everything they needed from out vet, but not long after that our claims started getting approved. We didn’t have the money to pay for all of the bills and had to put it on credit cards. The bills totaled over $7,000 and we received over $5,000 back from Healthy Paws. The claims process was easy and moved fairly quickly after the first claim was approved. I recommend this pet insurance to everyone I talk to about my dog and what happened to him.
