Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. It’s been a month and they still haven’t processed my claim or even updated me on it. They don’t respond to emails or return calls. Unacceptable.

Ignores customers, takes forever to process claims

Will never recommend again. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. They do not return calls or emails. It’s been a month and they still have not processed my claim. They won’t even give me an idea of when it might be processed. They flat out ignore their customers and do not care about your business. Highly recommend you find another insurance company to do business with!

Exceptional Service and Compassion

My dog Bert was diagnosed with Liver cancer a few months ago. There was a lot of diagnosis, imaging, etc. Ultimately it was determined that surgery was the best course of action. Long story short, while Bert made it through the surgery itself, he didn't make it past the recovery and had to be put down. During this whole process, Healthy Paws has been amazing. Everything was paid, as expected, without any hassles. I simply submitted the invoices from the vet and I got reimbursed. Today I came home to find a very nice, hand signed, card from a bunch of folks over there at Healthy Paws. It was very touching and I appreciate the personal touch. While I currently am not able to be a customer of Healthy Paws, I have shared my experiences with the many other pet owners I know. One day, when i'm ready, I hope to be a customer again.

So glad I had this insurance when she needed surgery

I paid into the pet insurance for 3 years and suddenly had to make a big claim.  I ended up getting reimbursed 80% which was more than I had paid in over the 3 years of insurance premiums!!  After my deductible I paid out 20% for xrays, medicines, surgery, hospital and I paid the dr fees in full (not covered).  My service dog had to have surgery for a tear in her knee. [cruciate =TPLO surgery].  I cannot thank Healthy Paws Pet Insurance enough for the reimbursement checks.  I am on social security and this is my service dog.  I could not afford this surgery for her without it.  She does still do her medical alerts to keep me safe.  She loves her 'puppy party' she gets after I test my blood and fix the problem.  Hurt leg or not she will not miss an alert.  My house looks like a hoarders with all the boxes I had to put on furniture and child gates to keep her from jumping up.  Makes it a bit hard to get around with my walker and oxygen tubing I have to drag with me but if it keeps her healing on track...I am going to do it.   Thanks for being there for her and me.  I appreciate Healthy Paws Pet Insurance so much.  I have told everyone about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance and how much help it has been.  So grateful.  I think everyone should get pet insurance.   Especially people who have high medical bills of their own and rely on their service dog to keep them out of nursing home.

Healthy Paws is the best!

I woke up one morning and my 3 year old cat was limping on a hind leg. I took him to the vet only to find he had a broken hip that needed surgery. This was devastating news! There were 2 surgical options and my vet could perform one if them right away. The other option required a specialist. Since he had been sedated to take the x-rays, the vet needed to know the answer quickly. First, I contacted Healthy Paws Customer Service to see if the surgery was covered by my plan. The woman who took my call could not have been more sympathetic and reassuring. She assured me that with my policy, both types of surgeries were covered and let me know about the deductible and other details of the policy. She was very kind and did her best to calm me down and put me at ease. After weighing our options for the surgery, since the surgery that required a specialist wouldn't be able to happen for 5 days due to their schedule, we went ahead with the surgery our vet could perform. All went well, and we were able to bring Oreo home. The day after the surgery, he wasn't eating or drinking much, and contacted the vet. They suggested we bring him in. They felt it might be due to pain, and prescribed a larger dosage of pain meds and also gave him an appetite stimulant. The next day, Sunday, we saw that his leg appeared to be swollen. We took him to the emergency vet, who let us know it sometimes happened in cases like this, and to follow up with our vet the next day. We did, and because he was out of the anti-inflammatory they prescribed, they prescribed more, and additional pain meds. A week later he went in to have stitches removed, and he will return next week for his 30 day check-up. Filing a claim was so easy! I just snapped pictures of the invoices and doctors notes and uploaded them into the Healthy Paws app. Within 10 days, I had been reimbursed for everything but the cost of the doctors visits, the deductible and 10% of the remaining costs. It was deposited right into my checking account. Oh! I forgot to mention, I also received an email from Healthy Paws asking about how Oreo was doing! I though that was really nice! I can't thank Healthy Paws enough for all of their kind, supportive and compassionate service. I highly recommend them to everyone who is shopping for pet health insurance.
