Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We recently found out our 8 yr old dog has cancer. The best option to alleviate her pain and extend her life was to amputate her front leg. This was such a tough decision for us, but we are SO GRATEFUL that we didn't have to base the decision off of finances. Healthy Paws covered 80% of the surgery, medication and all associated appointments. Their associates checked up on our dog multiple times and even though the surgery was only 2 weeks ago, we have already received all of the checks! We were never expecting to get this tough news, but having Healthy Paws made it that much easier to deal with what we were going through. Thank you to all of the Healthy Paws staff who helped us during this time. Even our surgeon told us that Healthy Paws was the best pet insurance their office works with! We are happy to report that our dog has made a quick recovery from surgery and is back to her happy self!

We adopted a cat from the spca who unfortunately has a very bad case of pica (eating foreign objects). As a result he had had multiple bowel obstructions, surgeries and hospitalizations, despite our best efforts to keep everything away from home. Healthy paws has been prompt and responsive with our insurance claims every time! We could not continue to care for our beloved cat if it weren’t for their insurance.

And it has continued to be easy to submit any claims. They respond quickly and thoroughly. I appreciate the clear explanation of benefits so I can understand what is covered and how different costs applied to our deductible.

After researching Pet Insurance companies and asking around to my friends, I decided on Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for my adopted rescue dog-Harry. Six months after adoption, when Harry was just under 2 years old, I went on a cruise. While at sea (with no wifi or internet), and Harry with a pet sitter, he ingested things he should not have while she was at work. After excessive vomiting and diarrhea, she contacted my daughter who rushed him to the vet, and then on to the vet hospital. After emergency surgery, the vet bills came to over $3,900.00. I got home from the cruise to these insurmountable bills. I contacted Healthy Paws immediately, first through my app, and then via email. They asked for copies of the bills and a history of his vet visits (have this at hand) which weren't many for Harry as I only had him a month. I spoke with their rep on the phone once and he was understanding and helpful in explaining my benefits. Within 7 business days, I received a check paying 80% of the vet bills (minus my deductible and the $40 initial vet visit which is not covered in your insurance).
