I have had a great experience with Healthy Paws, and I have recommended them to quite a few friends. They are quick to process invoices, and reimbursements happen quickly and as expected. Every vet bill we've received has been processed exactly as I would have expected, with no hidden fees or surprises, and no questions asked.
My 3 year old pup has already needed 2 significant types of treatment, first, she was hospitalized for 2 nights when she was sick and became severely dehydrated as a result. Luckily, we only had to pay a fraction of her stay for around the clock monitoring and medications, so it made this scary time way less stressful. More recently, she needed a minor surgery, and we were glad to have Healthy Paws who covered it as expected.
While we have been extremely satisfied and will be lifelong customers, I am a little disappointed at how much our rates have gone up over time. We were assured rate increases are not tied to usage or to breed/age, so I was surprised to see more than a $10 a month jump in our monthly fees for this year, which is why I took away a star.

Healthy Paws helps me take the best care of my pets
I have had several claims with two of my three dogs that have Healthy Paws pet insurance. My oldest dog, Grayson, had a collapsed lung a couple of years ago and I thought I was going to lose him. I was able to go to the emergency room with him and confidently say yes to all of the tests and x-rays they needed to diagnose him. When I was told that they could save him, but the surgery would cost $4500, I didn't have to make a hard decision because I knew Healthy Paws would cover most of the cost. When it was all said and done, I had spent almost $6500 and was reimbursed for a big chunk of that. I had not even spent that amount of money on premiums for my dogs yet! I love that there is an annual deductible and a no hassle claim process. Grayson is now much older and needs ongoing physical therapy (underwater treadmill, acupuncture, stability exercises) that he gets at a specialty referral hospital. Healthy Paws is covering that as well and now I can help Grayson stay happy and get stronger so that he can live his best life and enjoy his walks again.
Healthy Paws gives me peace of mind that I can always do what is best for my pet

Healthy Paws is the ONLY way to go!
Healthy Paws has always gone above and beyond to insure our rescue pups, and the amount of coverage for the price is beyond compare! We did our research before choosing an insurance company for our dogs, and Healthy Paws had better coverage for less of a monthly payment, with no limits on maximum dollar amount of coverage per year per dog. For example, one of our dogs had ACL surgery, and Healthy Paws covered 80% of the surgery! Thus, a potentially crippling $4000 + surgery became $1,000 dollars out of pocket for us, which not only made the surgery possible, but allowed us to choose the best surgeon for our furbaby. Also, they checked in on our pup to make sure all was well, and kept in contact with us throughout the whole process. Oh, and did I mention that claim submission is done via phone app, and reimbursement is directly deposited into your account? Who could ask for more? In the world of pet health insurance, Healthy Paws beats the competition by leaps and bounds!
Look No Further! Healthy Paws is far better than the rest!
Where do I even begin? Few people will ever know just how truly grateful I am to have Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for my baby. I didn’t know it was possible to find an insurance company that not only has excellent customer service, but also truly and sincerely cares for your furry loved ones…yet Healthy Paws is that company! I very rarely write reviews but due to the outstanding support I’ve received from the Healthy Paws family, sharing my story with the world is the very least that I can do.
Allow me to tell you about my baby Ollie. Ollie was the greatest, happiest, friendliest, and most beautiful long legged dear head chihuahua you would have ever met. We rescued him has a puppy after finding him abandoned on a hiking trail. We immediately bonded with him and he instantly became a member of my family.
As an attorney, I’ve been trained to always think of “worst case scenarios.” That training led me to look into insurance companies for our little Ollie “just in case” something terrible were to happen (knock on wood.) Low and behold, a year and a couple months later, my baby (who was only a year and a half old at the time) was diagnosed with leukemia. Needless to say, we were beyond devastated.
As we all know, hearing the word “cancer” knocks the wind out of you. The very first thought I had was “Will he be okay?” Then the very next thought I had was “Will I be able to afford his chemotherapy treatments?” The day he was diagnosed, we arrived home from the animal hospital in tears. Ollie was admitted in the hospital so he wasn’t with us. I picked up the phone and called Healthy Paws, barely holding back tears. After explaining Ollie’s diagnosis, a calm, comforting, soothing voice on the other end of the phone told me not to worry about a thing. The rep told me to focus on being there for Ollie, focus on supporting him and fighting for him. Then the rep told me the magic words…”you’re completely covered.”
A wave of relief washed over me. For the next two months, we focused on just that…treatment. We aggressively fought Ollie’s cancer with everything we had knowing Healthy Paws had our back. Healthy Paws didn’t deny a single one of our 40+ claims…not…one. Healthy Paws paid 90% of everything (excluding exam fees), in full, on time, and transferred the reimbursement directly into my account without any delay. No issues, no hassle, no fuss. Ever. I would charge the treatment on my credit card and within the week, the funds would be in my account. I couldn’t have prayed for a better financial partner.
Unfortunately, our little Ollie didn’t make it. He succumbed to cancer almost two months after he was diagnosed. After tallying all of his medical bills, it was in the tens of thousands range (yes…I know. Plural not singular.) Healthy Paw’s never once claimed or denied any claim and thank God there were NO lifetime caps. None. Just peace of mind during a tumultuous time.
A few days after Ollie passed, I received an unexpected, beautiful, and heartwarming email from Healthy Paws extending their condolences. It was one of the kindest emails I’ve ever read. There was no doubt that I would be a Healthy Paws customer for life.
Wow this review is long! Let’s quickly fast forward to today. After much needed time to grieve our loss, my family ended up rescuing another puppy. I knew EXACTLY where to go for insurance. I had zero doubt or hesitation signing up! In fact, I was worried that I’d be denied since Ollie’s payout was much higher than the premiums I paid. But my new baby Nala was approved!
Unfortunately, Nala developed a very rare condition that required her to have surgery at only 7 months old, but once again Healthy Paws pulled through! They paid for her surgery without asking any questions. A week or so after her surgery, I received another amazing email from a Healthy Paws team member asking me how she was doing! Once again, I was blown away!!
HEALTHY PAWS IS AMAZING! There is absolutely no need to ever look elsewhere. I love this company because they love their customers…I will be a customer for life. Insurance companies around the world need to take a page out of Healthy Paws’ book.
THANK YOU HEALTHY PAWS!! You are officially a part of my family! Thank you thank you thank you!
