Thank goodness for pet insurance
To all of those who are thinking of not getting pet insurance but love their animals like family member, GET IT!. When I got Mogley i was in college and couldn't afford much. i couldn't figure out a way to afford monthly pet insurance payments. A couple of years went by and finances got a little better i began shopping around for what I could afford knowing that at some point my love of my life Mogley would need assistance, and vet bills are expensive! With Healthy Paws I was able to choose the coverage I could afford. they give you many options! So... here we are my best buddy is now 11 but still very Spry.he loves to chase bunnies and squirrels and loves swimming, when one day he chases after a bunny and Snap! there goes his ACL. My choices were let him stay lame (he's an old boy but not with out spirit. this didn't seem like the best option for my best bud), the other option were 2 different surgeries. one that fixed the problem but restricted him still, or TPLO which is more expensive but better for recovery and quality of life. Anywhoo the TPLO was quoted close to $6000. what a price tag! thank goodness for my Healthy paws Pet Insurance! I didn't have to even sweat about it! I currently have 80% coverage so when all said in done I think i paid $1300. AND they allowed me a Direct pay option for the surgery where they approved my estimate and allowed the surgeon to just bill me what I owed so I didn't have to temporarily load up my credit card.
While the Insurance doesn't cover regular vet visits, it is affordable and easy to use and makes it count when you need it the most.. My deductible is fairly low and the Insurance has come in handy more than once. I would have hated to have to choose the lesser option for Mogley. he is the most deserving soul I know, and to give him anything less than the best life because of a silly price tag seems sad to me.
