Healthy Paws is THE best insurance company. Period.

I can not sing the praises of Healthy Paws enough. I have been with them for 7 years and am amazed daily by what a great company they are (considering the reputation most insurance companies have.) They review claims quickly, fairly and reimburse you for benefits in a matter of days straight to your bank account. The scope of what they cover is impressive and the yearly increase in their premiums has always been fair and reasonable. I left them briefly a few years back based on big promises made by a competing insurance company. It was a terrible experience. Their competitor took forever to review our claim and in the end came back and covered almost nothing. I came back to Healthy Paws and will never use a different company again. Most recently my dog had to have surgery. Not only did Healthy Paws cover the majority of the cost, they even emailed me to check in on my dog’s recovery a few weeks later. Thank you Healthy Paws for putting my faith back into insurance companies.

Falsified my dogs breed, increased my premium

They changed their billing and now use an outside company so there's a minimum 3% surcharge on top of your monthly premium if you use a credit card. They want you to link your bank account to this unaffiliated company to avoid the surcharge, which is a huge no for me considering they falsified her breed on their own and increased one of my dogs premium an additional $100 a month. They changed my dogs breed, despite a letter from her veterinarian saying she is not the breed they changed her to, without my consent, which increased her monthly premium to an additional $100. They refuse to refund me the money they overcharged me. I had to have my vet write another letter clearly stating her breed, despite them having her current veterinary records with her correct breed listed on them. This company is one of the worst pet insurance companies around and I would never recommend them Healthy paws- I am not giving some random company a direct link to my bank account. That is absolutely insane. I signed up with your company, not the ones you contract with. And considering how you randomly increase her rate almost 100 a month, there is 0 chance im giving you access to my bank account. You can attempt to justify it any way you want, it's still deceptive and Im not the only one that has a problem with it based on reviews and what people say on social media. Now that my dogs had some claims, im stuck with your sub par company. My dogs name is Lottie. Ive spent more time on the phone with your reps regarding you guys changing her breed on your own than any other company or person in my life.

Horrible

My cat has been covered under HP since 2019, and only now is the second time I've needed to file a claim for her. Process in app: Page 1 is to upload invoice for claim. Page 2 is to upload any missing medical records. Filed a claim for a 5/27/25 visit. Attached the invoice to Page 1. Page 2 stated they are missing Medical records so I uploaded all of my attachments. The app started opening claims for those old wellness visits from the records. Received a message requesting missing records. Emailed all records May 29. Received another message for same. Emailed all records June 3. Filed claims (separately) for 6/9 and 6/10/25 follow-ups. Same process. STILL claiming they do not have medical records. I attached all again for both claims and there are, once again, claims open for old wellness visits. In total, I have submitted all of her medical records FIVE TIMES in the past 2 weeks. Phone calls: May 30, June 9, June 10. All 3 confirmed they saw medical records were emailed. At least, I think because I could barely understand what they were saying nor am I sure they understood me. As of today, June 11, the claim has not processed because I'm "missing information". In addition, I now have 9 open claims when there should only be 3. I sent a heated email to customer service last night with the breakdown of the above. I'm not holding my breath for a reply.
