Saved my dog life!
My dog Chance came down with an acute case of nercotizing pancreatitis. He was fine one day and then the next extremely lethargic. I had taken him to the vet during the day and they were unable to diagnose the issue based on x-rays and lab results, but thought that he might have ingested a foreign body. After inducing vomiting, the vet recommended he stay overnight for monitoring. About midnight I got a call that he was getting progressively worse and needed immediate surgery and they were only giving him 50/50 odds of survival through the night. They were able to help me find an emergency vet that was able to perform emergency exploratory surgery and found that part of his pancreas had started digesting itself and was leaking fluids into his abdominal cavity.
I am so tankful to have had Healthy Paws Insurance. With it, it was easy to be able to say yes to proceed with an expensive surgery, in excess of $11,000, and ultimately saved my dog's life. The claims process following Chance's release from the hospital was quick and easy, though they did require more than just the invoice for this particular surgery (also requested the doctor's medical records), and the re-reimbursement was completed quickly.
