Quick and Fair priced
My husband and I did a lot of research, we have 3 shih tzu’s. They don’t have any issues, but they are our babies and I wanted to make sure we could care for them when needed. Figo had the fairest prices with the most coverage. We could have went with the “Cadillac” package from nationwide, but for 3 dogs it would have cost us $450 a month! As dogs age the prices of the insurance monthly costs go up, that makes sense, but that cost more than what we pay for our insurance as humans. We unfortunately had the pleasure of using the insurance, when my dog would not stop throwing up for a few days straight, yes we paid out of pocket for the visit, but within a week or two we got a check back for 90% of what we paid. Well worth it! If something serious happens we will be covered as long as the illness was not caused by something that has preventative medicine. If you are not giving you dog heartworm meds or are giving the heart worm meds and you dog gets heartworm, the insurance will not cover that, or if there was a preexisting condition, you dog will not be covered for that care. It is best to get insurance right away, get cleared as 100% healthy by the vet and then you are good, don’t wait till something happens then look into it, you get insurance for the “what if” not the “oh no, what do we do now” situations. Keep track of your dog's heartworm and flea and tick, nothing is 100% protective, just like condoms! :) but 99% is better than nothing and will help save your dogs life and not put you in a situation where there is nothing you can do to help them. I hope this review helps you make the decision!
