Figo | Pet Insurance Review

I had previously used VPI and then Pet Plan USA for 2 other pets situations. Both rarely paid out, if at all. Always having some loophole excuse not to pay. - Really happy I changed to Figo. They have been both quick and responsive. I needed to use Care Credit for my current dog's (Cody) Cancer. Figo reimbursed me the same week I got my first Care Credit bill. - When I called with a question, I left a voicemail and they called back within 2-4 minutes. Everyone I have spoken with seems very compassionate and never seemed to be just quoting me the written corporate line... as most other pet insurance companies tend to do.

I switched from 24 pet watch to Figo only because 24 pet watch more than doubled my premium. I never had any trouble with 24 pet watch. After I switched over I requested a chart review. There are no preexisting conditions for my cats as far as I know, but I wanted to be sure. My cats are now 5.5 years old. Weeks later a vet tech from Figo replied saying that she had to check with underwriting regarding diarrhea that one of my cats had when she was 6 months old. I responded that that issue was associated with long term antibiotics use when her WBC were elevated. It has been resolved since end of 2012, and every annual physical and fecal exam at the same vet showed no further notes of diarrhea or loose stool. I even requested them to expedite it because if they still see it as a pre-existing condition I still had a little time to renew with 24PetWatch. Weeks later the vet tech wrote back underwriting deemed it a pre-existing condition, just because the vet used the word “chronic” during the 2 months when she had diarrhea, completely ignoring the subsequent 5 years free of diarrhea. 2 months out of 6-8 month old is chronic, I agree, but 2 months with a 5 year break from symptoms? Really? My vet wrote me a letter explaining my cat does not have diarrhea. He even called the vet tech I was talking to ask them what proof they need. While the vet tech showed understanding of the situation, she explained it was underwriting that had the final say. The best thing she could do was to attach the letter to my policy. So yea I suppose underwriting are just bots looking for words like ‘chronic’ or ‘latent’ or ‘dorment’ in the chart that those conditions automatically become a preexisting condition. Apparently they lack the ability to reason. 5 years in a cat is like 1/3 to 1/4 of their average life span.

I am so happy I decided to get Figo Pet Insurance when I adopted Olivia, mixed breed, 6 month old. Unfortunately she developed a UTI and kidney infection and had to spend two days in the hospital. Figo reimbursed me for all hospital and treatment costs minus my deductible. This is the best insurance ever. It would have been an extreme hardship to have to incur all the costs. I highly recommend pet insurance and in this case Figo Pet insurance. They were very supportive and responsive throughout the claim process. THANK YOU FIGO!!!

I was looking for an affordable pet insurance with extensive coverage for illnesses and accidents. I chose Figo. Figo did not disappoint. I'm not computer savvy but the pet cloud is so simple to use. I uploaded my dog's exam records using the app. I filed a claim using the app. Best part no lengthy forms to fill out. Figo is the only pet insurance I would recommend to any pet parent.

My first experience with Figo has been amazing. Very quick and efficient customer service. Jennifer seems to really care about my dogs well being and my satisfaction with her assistance today! Much appreciated!! Two paws up!
